Radioheadâ,,,s OK Computer is the greatest album of all time. While there are many fans who will say otherwise in favor of Radioheadâ,,,s more experimental Kid A as truly the bandâ,,,s magnum opus, OK Computer holds a much dearer place in my heart. The reason I would choose OK Computer over any other album as an album to leave behind for my fellow peers lies not only in OK Computerâ,,,s musical exploration and lyrical prowess, but the emotional connection I have with it.
Jump back to my freshman year of high school. Iâ,,,ve never heard of Radiohead before, and I was busy listening to whatever band was advertised on the t-shirts of other students. Somehow, but some crazy miraculous chance, I happen to come upon the sixth track of OK Computer, Karma Police. It soon becomes my own personal anthem. â,"This is what you get, when you mess with usâ,. It had a nice ring to it. Oh, and by the way, I figured this would be as good as a place as any, Emily, will you go to prom with me?
Jump ahead a year. Thus begins my life at HIGH SCHOOL NAME. I make new friends, and begin to pick-up on a whole new scene of music that I hadnâ,,,t even known about before. Before long, I had my hands on OK Computer, and my first listen through it was an experience Iâ,,,ll never forget.
â,¦and Iâ,,,ll eventually put more stuff here about how cool it is, and try to keep it under 700 words this time since this is supposed to be a blurb anyway. Sweet, bye.

well
it's more complicated than that
and I'm going to get defensive now because I've been in this situation multiple times. It sucks.
if a friend has a crush on you, and you don't feel the same way about them, it makes things very awkward. It completely depends on the person, but I had this one boy who would not stop flirting with me, and even after I rejected him
twice he kept doing those annoying flirty things that piss me the fuck off. So I started ignoring him to try to get him to stop. Eventually he did. But he probably thinks I'm a bitch now.
It was absolutely necessary though. Everytime I was friendly with him at all, he thought I wanted to be with him. Even when I didn't return his flirting. We're friends again now, but after a 8 year friend ship I'm sure I came across as the hugest bitch ever when he was trying to get with me. I'm not at all though.

I never did anything like that to her, that's what pissed me off about it. I was always there for her, I hung out with her, talked to her on a regular basis, I never flirted with her or asked her out. I simply told her that I liked her. I even said I still wanted to be friends. If I were a stalker or obsessed with her, it'd be justified for her to be a bitch to me.
I agree that it was necessary in your situation, but what happened with you can't really be applied to my situation. It doesn't bother me that she didn't want to be with me, what bothers me is that she dropped the whole friendship just because things got a little awkward. It doesn't do your character much good if you're willing to destroy friendships over trivial things.

Your friend is an idiot.
my perfect person doesn't exist in reality </3
You shouldn't tell somebody you like them unless you are really positive that they like you back. That was your first mistake. Obviously if she doesn't like you back there is going to be some amount of awkwardness and the situation is obviously not going to make her happy.
I just don't understand why somebody would do that.

and I'm going to get defensive now because I've been in this situation multiple times. It sucks.
if a friend has a crush on you, and you don't feel the same way about them, it makes things very awkward. It completely depends on the person, but I had this one boy who would not stop flirting with me, and even after I rejected him twice he kept doing those annoying flirty things that piss me the fuck off.
I fully understand your situation, but dropping someone as a friend that isn't doing anything to make you physically uncomfortable just because they have feelings for you? That's harsh.
Alright, down to business.
I was at my region's solo and ensemble contest today, and one of the girls from the high school that was hosting it was sitting outside of the room that all the people from my school were going into to play their pieces. She was insanely hot and very friendly towards me, so naturally I started flirting with her, and wound up doing so for the next couple of hours as the contest progressed. Things went very well, and there seemed to be a lot of mutual interest between us.
As things were winding down and my school was about to head back home, I found her and asked if she had a Facebook or a Myspace so I could talk to her again (I feel more comfortable doing so through a social networking site before asking for a number). She gave me her Myspace info, and now I'm trying to figure out what kind of date I should ask for when the opportunity presents itself.
So, yeah, I was at this place near this thing and I saw this woman and it was like woah. I tried to talk to her but she was always like this and like that and I was like that and like this, and it ended up being all that, and in the end I asked her if she was it and she was like that and I was like oh.
So, yeah, it was pretty cool. Also, she was pretty.

actions like these are what make us feel so confused and lonely :'(
I would rather have someone say yes or no to me rather then trying to pretend they love me.

it's not as bad as you guys think it is. It's not like i jokingly hit on nerdy guys and make fun of them later, or like I hit on them and then ditch them. I just start conversations with guys who probably can't get many girls, or anyone for that matter, to talk to them on a normal basis. I tell them I like their costume even if it's horrible, or maybe I'll start talking about how they have good taste in anime or how they know more about something than I do, and laugh at their lame jokes. It really is just to boost their confidence. If they ask for my number or something I give it to them, but they rarely do. The only reason I do it at cons and not at places like school or around town is because it's not very likely for someone to become clingy/stalkerish within a 10-15 minute conversation. I really can't handle clingy guys.
Nothing about what I do is being a tease, or a bitch. Just being friendly to people who are looking for having a good weekend. If they go their weekend with nobody talking to them because they don't have the confidence to start up a conversation, they might as well not be at a nerd convention. So I give them a little boost by showing them there are people, even girls, who would love to be friends with them.
But when they start the conversations I get a little creeped out. >.>

actually no I never ignore IM's on purpose, really. I only ignore it if it's someone I don't know, I like to find out who it is before I respond. If it's someone I don't want to talk to, I either tell them I have to go and log off or just tell them I can't talk right now.
If I'm not responding to you it's because I didn't realize you sent me something new.
You're not creepy jimvers because I know you're never hitting on me. :3
yeah i was joking brah

no, i don't. nerds come in many flavors, and each has their own flaws like any other person. doodella;
I'm kind of an obsessive-freak-fangirl-annoying-nerd, while the people I like to talk to are usually the supershy-lonely-nerds.
And of course the supershy-lonely-nerd-type isn't very good at conversation, so that is their handicap.
