i can only imagine what a game that struggles to run on the wii u will be like on the 3ds
hyrule warriors doesnt struggle on wii u, but it sure as hell will on 3ds.
to run decently on 3ds, it'll have to DRASTICALLY cut down the number of enemies on screen

Hyrule Warriors isn't a Wii U exclusive anymore

it's now being made for 3DS too:

Also, WW's Tetra and King Hyrule are being added to both versions as playable, probably as free on 3DS and DLC (or a reward for buying both versions) on Wii U
hopefully the extra characters WILL be paid dlc on wii u version, because right now it sounds like you'll have to own the 3ds version in order to import them to the wii u version, and that BETTER NOT BE THE CASE

Quote from: nintendo repWe still have those great, big third-party partners like Ubisoft who continue to invest in our platforms

"great, big third-party partners like ubisoft", including:

  • ubisoft

and both ubisoft's """greatness""" and level of commitment to the wii u are questionable at best

even with such "great" games as smash, mario kart 8 etc the wii u has still sold less than the vita.  let that sink in.

Kalahari Inkantation

it's still beneath even the dreamcast

nintendo's face when having to go last at e3 and having nothing interesting to show

Kalahari Inkantation

Quote from: Metroid Prime producer Kensuke TanabeIf we started for Wii U now, it would likely take three years or so. So it would likely now be on Nintendo's NX console

LOL

confirming that:

1. they never at any point had a real metroid in development for the 8th generation in the first place
2. they are indeed already formally abandoning the wii u ship, and they're not even afraid to admit it anymore

Kalahari Inkantation

i'm keeping it if for no other reason than mk8 but there's really no denying that this has been by far nintendo's most disappointing console yet

Nintendo should ask Panasonic to release that DVD-playing GameCube here, it'd probably sell more than the Wii U y/n

Quote from: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=533874Every generation, Satoru Iwata tells investors, gamers, and retailers that they will avoid major software droughts because these can kill a platform’s momentum after launch. Satoru Iwata never learns from anything. He always says he has learned from past mistakes, but his actions never show it. Instead, every single generation, all we get from him is a whole bunch of “Please understand” and “I apologize for the inconvenience”.

Here’s some examples.

Iwata says Wii will avoid major droughts that plagued GameCube. (March 2007)

“When we launched GameCube, the initial sales were good, and all the hardware we manufactured at that time were sold through. However, after this period, we could not provide the market with strong software titles in a timely fashion. As a result we could not leverage the initial launch time momentum, and sales of GameCube slowed down. To avoid repeating this with Wii, we have been intensifying the software development, both internally at Nintendo and at developers outside the company, in order to prepare aggressive software lineup for Wii at and after the launch.” says Iwata. He then says, ”We believe it is important to provide the market with strong software without a long interval in order to keep the launch time momentum."

Iwata promises that 3DS will avoid major droughts that plagued Wii and DS.

“It’s important that you be able to supply software with no pause,” said Iwata. “With the DS and Wii, following the titles that were released at launch, the momentum dropped when there was a gap in software releases. We’re making plans so that this type of thing won’t happen.”

Iwata promises that Wii U will avoid major droughts that plagued 3DS and Wii.

“As we learned a bitter lesson with the launch of the Nintendo 3DS, we are trying to take every possible measure so that the Wii U will have a successful launch.”
“The company was unable to launch much-anticipated first-party titles for the Wii nor for the Nintendo 3DS in a timely fashion in the first half of the term. In the game platform business, creating momentum is very important, but the momentum was once lost, and it has had a large negative effect on our sales and profits.”

Iwata apologizes for Wii U drought in January and February.
“I apologize to those supporting Wii U about the lack of titles in January and February.”
