When I was in preschool in Italy, this kid clawed at my face. I just took it because my parents always told me not to fight back. I had red marks down my face for a week.   madood;

It's not that at all. You think the US gives a shit about any of that?

The United States of America's support for Israel is a strategic alliance. In other words, we're using them, so they're basically a little colony we used to keep an eye on the Russians, and now the Chinese.

However, these days for some reason the support has increased. I guess it's because Bush thinks that they're helping us with the so-called war on terror. Interestingly, we are hated by the "terrorists" for supporting Israel in the first place.

Some people like myself actually do give a shit about all that. I actually do care about what this country was founded on and what it's supposed to stand for. If you want America to turn into a breeding ground for disrespectful, dishonest low lives than fine. Abandon your country's past and drop all moral values at your feet. If America is such a repugnant and horrendous nation why do you live here? Move to fucking Canada and do whatever the fuck you want.

Ugh, I'm not telling you to say the pledge in agreeance with all the screwed up politicians out there. I'm saying that it should be recited in honor of every American citizen that has willingly given their life to do what they feel can keep you and your families intact and happy. It's such an effortless action, to say the pledge. A simple "thank you" to say the least, toward the outstanding efforts and achievements of the people who care about this country enough to die for it. I'm not saying all of America's doings ended well and benefited everyone, but you can't label America as a blind, ignorant country because it's doing the best they can with full knowledge that nothing works out perfectly.

For instance, I dislike Obama. I'm not saying he's going to do a terrible job running the US, but somewhere along the lines he's gonna screw up. Everyone always does somehow. At the end of his term/terms i would never pin him down with every mistake he's made and rebel against everything he stood for and America. The president has a difficult job to do and even if i disagree with him, i appreciate the effort he's put forth and i realize that he had good intentions. That same appreciation goes towards our troops, alive and dead, whenever i say the pledge.

And honestly i don't know enough about Israel to give you a solid standing on the subject.

In the 7th grade this kid threw a chess peice at me and it cutt my eyebrow open. I got lunch detention for trying and failing to kick him.

It was founded on utter rebellion, disrespect to the mother country, religious or non-religious freedom,  and not giving a damn about anyone else.

I show my pride in America but using my freedom to not do the pledge when everyone is trying to coax me into doing it.

thomas jefferson would be more proud of someone that knowingly refuses to do any sort pledge than someone that tries to make someone else do it

The last thing I want to do is force America down anyone's throat, it just come across as disrespectful to take the pledge out of schools just so they don't 'offend' anyone. Most kids in school who start bitching about the seperation of church and state and their rights and all don't know what they're talking about. They're doing it solely for attention. I see it every day. They don't watch the news. They play freakin' Guitar Hero all day.
No one is required to be overly patriotic or to say the pledge, i just think that that sense of pride and respect in America has sliped too far away. It's to a point where people see patriotism as a bad thing. I'll admit, some people can take it too an extreme which  leads to superiority complexes and such, but in my opinion, some type of acknowledgement of the US's sacrifices is necessary. It's depressing to know that some people out there really don't care about the well-being of our country or it's hardships. The pledge is just such a simply thing to me, i think people think too hard over it.
