I have to admit, the things that go on around here are pretty interesting. hocuspocus;

Last year, a dog wandered into my Biology class.
We were on the second floor, and there are "guards" around all of the entrances. akudood;

I can't believe you didn't mention the Pringles kid, Tec. akudood;

Once, in 7th grade, I was walking from Band to my next class with a friend, and I climbed the stairs and made a right. There was this kid running down the hallway with his arms flailing, and there was something in his hand but I couldn't tell what it was. I didn't think much of it until a few seconds later. He was running in my direction, tripped over someone's foot, flew for about two meters and fell, face down, right into the doorway of a classroom. That's when I noticed that it was a can of Pringles he had in his hand, and there were chips everywhere. He laid there for probably a few minutes, I didn't see him get up, or even move after falling.

suddenly there was roaring laughter from everyone in the hallway, including myself especially
i was even laughing while writing about this
that kid made 7th grade bassir;

I remember one time, in first grade, I didn't know how to buy lunch, so I cried because I'd have nothing to eat.

Similar one to tec's, but one time in 8th grade my friends found some pokemon hentai in one of the school's computers. i laughed hard.

We don't even do the pledge of allegiance .

Wtf that's retarded! Let's throw ALL patriotism and appreciation for the armed forces out the window. It's not like we're at war or anything.

Reciting some pledge like a robot with no though, emotion and conviction is not patriotism.

Yeah, it seriously happened. That's what's funny.

I don't say the pledge, but I haven't been yelled at yet. Yay.
They didn't make you say it at my school, but they yelled at you if you didn't stand up

Travis

I remember as a kid everybody would always stand up and recite the pledge (usually pretty loud.) Except for this one Jehova's Witness

Most people in my school don't say it. I say it because i think it's important to love and respect the country that's so good to me. Removing the entire concept of saying the pledge blatantly disrespects the men and women that die everyday to make sure you stay alive. The kids who want to say it should at least have the opportunity to.

What's stopping you from thinking about the pledge and your patriotism/allegiance to the U.S.? Needing to recite it in front of others strikes me as something else. There are far more meaningful and productive ways to support one's country and ideals. I actually support a mandatory 2 year military service for all outgoing H.S. seniors, but that's just me. And by the way, I find a higher allegiance to the Constitution rather than the flag and the country.

No, it really doesn't. Swearing a blind loyalty oath is the type of tool used in societies such as those of the Nazis, Napoleonic France, and Soviet Russia. I don't have any respect for the pledge at all.

:atomsk:

It shouldn't be a blind loyalty. People aren't saying it becaasue people don't care. People should care.

:atomsk:

I don't yell the pledge for the whole school to hear me. I don't care if other people hear or not. If you can't even stand and show that minuscule of an amount of respect for your country, i doubt the lives of members of the armed forces are on your mind. Kids slumped over in their chairs with headphones hanging out of their ears openly show that they care very little about their country.

There are other ways of showing your patriotism, but it's the simplest thing to stand up, put a hand across your heart, and say a pledge that you've been saying since elementary school.

Although i don't think service should be mandatory, cuts too close to becoming a draft for me, we could always use the extra help. Service in the armed forces should be promoted more.

Constitution = good! I think pride in our flag, country, and Constitution all goes hand in hand. It's what our country is built on.
Sorry for long post.
