why is doom being rebooted
why was Wolfenstein rebooted
why was Tomb Raider rebooted
why was anything rebooted
idk about the first
tomb raider because it's a franchise that can still be relevant today but needed to be overhauled into lady uncharted
yeah doom doesn't need it. wolfenstein sort of did cause it's like doom but more primitive.
doom straight up doesn't need it, but I'm psyched for it anyway
technically the new doom has been in development since 2008. but as "doom 4." but we've known about it being a reboot since at least last year's e3. it's nice to be reminded, though.
maybe doom (20xx) will be what rage should have been

but even if i did have a pc capable of running it, i'd rather play souls games on a closed platform because of the online component, the pc versions are generally less active and rife with hackers and cheaters

also tons of different demons from doom and doom ii are visible in the trailer so that's awesome
and fuck yeah fallout

how hilariously ironic that the only conference in which the metroid name would pop up would be microsoft's, lol (though after halo 4 i suppose it's not the first time)
the backwards compatibility announcement was a very welcome surprise, finally a significant feature differentiating the xbox from the ps4 (hopefully it encourages sony to explore the possibilities for at least ps2 and ps1 compatibility on the ps4 but tbh i have absolutely no faith in sony)
dark souls 3 looks amazing, as does tomb raider
Im so fucking ready for this. This game, this series夷ts so good, it honestly shouldnt even exist. So mature, so sophisticated, sad, happy, weird, everything. MGS4 was the first game that made me cry, Im sure MGS5 will be an experience Ill never forget as well.

how far did you get exactly
and if you've played bioshock, how'd you feel about that
even ignoring the aesthetic similarities, dishonored's base gameplay is extremely reminiscent of the original bioshock's in so many significant ways, in that it's first-person gunplay mixed with a well-integrated supernatural element full of powers that are both fun to use and practical (rune abilities and bone charms are its equivalent of plasmids and gene tonics), with the unique addition of basic swordplay
there are so many elements of dishonored that are analogous to bioshock that it almost feels like a mod (so if you weren't a fan of bioshock i can fully understand why dishonored might not be for you lol)
but in addition to that bioshock-inspired base, what truly makes it stand out as opposed to being a clone is its sheer variety and flexibility of gameplay options
that bioshock base is greatly augmented by seamlessly implemented (and v. satisfying) stealth elements and a teleportation-enhanced mode of traversal, all of which when combined with well-designed, truly unique mission settings and an expressive cast of friends and foes make for an incredibly enjoyable experience and one of the best 'firsts' in a franchise that i've ever played
of course, it isn't nearly perfect
things that might have turned you off:
-the first hour
-the game undermines itself somewhat by clearly favoring one style of gameplay over others despite providing you with so many options
-surprisingly low enemy variety
-a few relatively dull segments in parts of some (especially earlier) missions
-blatantly underdeveloped, heavily segmented story with awkward pacing
still i would definitely say it's worth a second try, i think its gameplay for the most part is just stellar
everyone who liked bioshock and isn't opposed to stealth owes it to themselves to try dishonored

So we'll see (but I doubt it, or maybe not until the goty edition) unless that's just some smoke and mirrors.
I was kinda wondering if Windows 10 coming to the xbox one had something to do with it. Or maybe Microsoft just finally caved to gain some traction.

but reggie said there was much more lol
THE FUCK WERE THEY THINKING WITH ANIMAL CROSSING MARIO PARTY
how is there a new nier game lol
too many shitty party games, almost nothing with any depth
rip metroid
i worry about the playability of a game that would require as much strategizing and cooperation as a multiplayer zelda in online co-op
and why is star fox STILL using 64 assets goonish
at least they retconned krystal out of existence, goodbye and good riddance
Yeah, that is EXACTLY what people want.... multiplayer zelda and metroid.
you nailed it nintendo

come on tec really
of everything nintendo showed at least star fox does look good
(http://i.imgur.com/ZgxdVYW.jpg)
bleh it honestly looks like a suped up gamecube game
it really doesn't, everyone has been saying tons of games look like ps2/gamecube games, even on ps4 and xbone, but i think people seriously forgot what those systems were really capable of
honestly just very few games are visually impressive these days
i mean that original comparison image is obviously biased and exaggerated but the game is clearly rushed, it's still using star fox 64 assets for doodthing's sake
and it uses mostly flat, lifeless, single-color textures lol
it still looks like a tech demo, and that would be fine if it still were but this is a game five months from launch at this point
it may not literally look like a gamecube game but it sure does look like a gamecube game running on dolphin in 1080p
look at the amount of detail to be seen in that horizon screenshot, even the blurry compressed stream screen looks so much more vivid than the crisp star fox promo image below it lol
of course there's absolutely no point in comparing wii u games to ps4 games but even compared to other wii u games it's unimpressive
perhaps nintendo deemed graphical fidelity to be not of the utmost importance because we'd be spending most of our time flying right by most of the scenery anyway

yeah that's the other thing
meaning they have no legitimate excuses for the way it looks, aside from their dire need to pump something out as quickly as possible to pad that hyperanemic holiday lineup and patch the still flaming crater left by zelda u
perhaps the most entertaining thing about this year's e3 has been skimming through the various nintendo communities and just basking in all the thunderous rage, lol
nintendo has somehow managed to infuriate the fans of
-animal crossing
-paper mario
-metroid
-zelda
-fire emblem
-star fox
-the wii u in general
some more so than others, but all in a single showing
that takes talent
overall the FO4 showing was my favorite

At least Tri Force Heroes looks good, but of course people who expected Zelda U (despite Nintendo saying beforehand it's delayed until at least 2016) were in for disappointment
What did they do to infuriate Fire Emblem fans? Fates looks good. Maybe the "crossover" in Genei Ibun Roku is not nearly FE enough?
At least, making Paper Mario into just another character in an M&L game is more likely to result in an actually good game than the kind of butchering Nintendo has shown they can do to Paper Mario proper with Sticker Star. Of course, that doesn't quite redeem the fact that Paper Mario (64 and TTYD) is the more interesting Mario RPG series despite having no new games for over a decade.
both the new zelda and mario & luigi games look like frankenstein's monsters of lazily recycled assets

mostly the crossover (which both fe and smt fans seem to regard with pure disgust), but i've also seen a fair amount of disapproval over the amount of general fanservice and waifu pandering in fates
i'm pretty unenthused about tri force heroes, i can't imagine the game having much depth [glow=black,2,300]and i also have no friends[/glow]
anyway now that the festivities are over i can say with absolute certainty that despite nintendo's sincere attempts to sabotage it, this was the best e3 we've had in over a decade lol

QuoteHow do you do?
Yes?
Waah...
It feels very nice
Are you hurt somewhere?
Did my hat slip out of place?
The same hair colour as my mother ... I'm proud of it.
I'm happy that you praise me
This hair style is my favourite
Eh?
Uhm...
Ehehe...
What a wonderful room
You don't hate ... touching me?
I wonder if I resemble father a little...
My eyelashes are unexpectedly long
Is raising such a child disappointing...?
When I entered the male bath a while ago, I was almost kicked out...
Nn-
Come on
Being touched so much is embarrassing
Not t-this place...!
Uhm ... am I ... cute?
I made these clothes myself
Uhm... I'm a boy, so I don't have chests, you know?
Would adding more frills make it cuter...?
Clothes are one of the things protecting your body. Please take care of them.
Nn...?
What is it?
I love you...
I'm happy...
Ufufu, you're pretty again today
If you want to be spoiled, it's alright to just say it
You really are cute. Your face, hair, gestures, everything...
Yes. I am your prince. I'll always be by your side...
Nn...
Uaa...
I love you a lot...
This feeling is becoming painful
If you look at me like that, I ...
Hya! S-stop that...
This is the first time I thought of clothes as nuisance
When you're doing it this much, I can't endure it any longer
Excuse me... Can I dishevel your clothes?

Fire Emblem died after Sacred Stones
to some fans, I think that's true.
After SS, people really didn't seem to care about FE that much, what with Path of Radiance, it's sequel, and the ho-hum remake of the original, it wasn't until FE:A that people started to care again, and by then, it was just waifu pandering mostly
waifu pandering in awakenin?

,具,
http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2015/07/01/nintendo-knows-you-aren-t-happy-about-metroid-prime-federation-fighters.aspx
nintendo knows, they know we don't want it, yet they think we do..... wtf
nintendo wants to convince itself that it has another wind waker situation on its hands and that fans will quickly realize just how wrong they were to initially judge it so negatively by its reveal alone
unfortunately for nintendo, the difference was that wind waker ultimately did provide a full, core zelda experience, despite its cartoonish coat of paint
federation force plays nothing like metroid

how did i miss this
i love the choice of music lol
i wonder if being set in an entirely new galaxy will actually affect the look and feel of the game in more than just arbitrary ways
it would be somewhat underwhelming to be introduced to a new galaxy only for it to feel largely indistinguishable from bioware's envisioning of the milky way beyond our solar system in the original trilogy
though considering that galaxies are so large that any two of similar size would probably contain the entire range of possible types of planets/environments/habitats a billion times over, i'm not even sure how they could make the difference in setting matter
