gen 4 and 5 had the weakest starters for sure but gen 6 had fucking chespin which takes it down in my ratings quite a bit too

imo gen5 was a generation of disappointing starter evolutions

I liked Dewott and Servine designs better than Samurott and Serperior. I would have preferred if they both stayed bipedal.
Tepig turned into yet another Fire/Fighting starter, with a horrendous level-up moveset, while neither of the others even got any second type.

my overall preference of the starters, including evolutions, is probably something like: 6 > 3 > 1 > 2 > 4 > 5

Agreed, I love love love Dewatt but his evolution just doesn't even seem close to his previous 2 stages. Hell it's not even based on a similar animal at that point. And 3 fire fightings in a row was ridiculous. Serperior is alright by me but he's just kind of meh. Not great not bad almost forgettable

Also can I just say that I like Chespin, but his evolutions are garbaggio

Idk his evolutions are fine. But the initial stage just doesn't do it for me for some reason. It was between him and Oshawott but you know I can't vote an otter worst popsi. I'm sure I didn't just help your opinion of otters

yeah p. much same though froakie was 6th for me, totodile is last. I really like oshawott and dewott but samurott sucks
