If this doesn't break out into full-blown war this could be one of the best things to ever happen to the Ukraine

Europe will give them anything just to piss off Russia

it's all coming to pieces

well, at least until putin toughens up after his recent setbacks and injects a new stream of troops and weapons into donbas

world history class in 2088: how was the former russian federation's involvement in the ukrainian crisis of 2013-15 finally revealed?
a. a russian soldier posted a geo-tagged "selfie" (a picture of oneself taken with an ancient cellular phone) to a website known as instagram
b. us satellites caught russian troop movement into ukraine
c. intercepted messages between pro-russian rebels and the russian military
d. none of the above

well that's because there isn't one

does kiev really still think it has any remote chance of getting crimea back

lol

As long as the West refuses to recognise Russia's claim, probably

Kalahari Inkantation

true, though i'd sure hope ukraine is realistic enough to understand that whether or not the """west""" """recognizes""" a foreign claim is utterly meaningless in practical terms, especially in this case

the most pragmatic approach for ukraine at this point is to hopefully beat back russia's irregular forces in donbas, relinquish crimea in the aftermath as a bargaining chip to alleviate tensions and get russia to fuck; off, and move on

the sooner they acknowledge that they're never getting it back, the sooner we can put this all behind us
and the sooner they can join us in nato because territorial integrity is a fundamental prerequisite
