Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes will launch in spring 2014 on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. There is currently no release date for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.

konami/kojima better be giving you a heavy discount if we're just playing v's prologue in the spring.  even if it somehow managed to be about half as long as your typical mgs game, about ten to twelve hours long, i'd feel very gyped about being tricked into paying $120 for the ability to play mgsv.


also i can't wait for there to be dlc for both games just so konami can wring every single cent out of you.

castlevania is their other largest ip, but aside from their current milking of the lords of shadow sub-series, that's mostly been handheld games for quite a long time now

Well GZ was co firned to be $20 for current consoles and $25 for the new ones. So you're not paying full price for it. PP will probably be full price or be available at a discount if you own the previous game.

we're looking at about $90 total for mgsv, and that's assuming there's no additional dlc :'(

Ground Zeroes consists of one mission - a Cuban rescue mission - that has been extensively demoed this year, including at Tokyo Game Show in September. It will be out on PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360 next Spring. In the UK it will cost £19.99 on the older platforms and £29.99 on PS4 and Xbox One. In the US, it's considerably cheaper at $19.99/$29.99 respectively.

I know I read somewhere that it was $25 for the digital copy, unless that was changed.
