it wouldn't surprise me if scei eventually split off from the rest of the ailing company as one of the only divisions with future potential and hope

whatever the change, it probably needs to be drastic and soon

I'm not sure there's much hope for any of Sony's other branches at this point, which is why I wouldn't be surprised if SCEI spun off and watched from the outside as the rest of the ship crashed and burned, or got taken down with it.

I don't know if they can survive for much longer in their current form.

that being said, i do believe (or hope at the very least) that their gaming division at minimum is still salvageable, though not without ditching absolutely all the other garbage (which might not be such a bad deal considering that virtually all of their other major subsidiaries aside from those dealing with music and movies have been nothing but leeches for at least the better part of the decade )

but all of their hardware divisions have been suffering for years

i don't actually expect them to disappear anytime soon, but i do expect them to abandon the unprofitable arms of their company if this trend continues (and there's no indication of it stopping in the foreseeable future)
