Well, all I ever wanted to do was beat it before you did (because I started the game first).  Now that I have, I'm perfectly satisfied.

also that was seriously the most difficult segment of any video game i've ever played

that includes demon's souls, zelda 2, the early mega man games, etc.

I did, but I only moved on to other games out of frustration from The Perfect Run.

but yeah, there are tons of games that are otherwise great except for shitty levels...and an overwhelming amount of shitty levels are underwater ones. or have something to do with water.

like, i love re4, but fuck the lake monster. for the longest time i did NOT know you could easily just steer around him when he turns around and comes back at you, so i would always get hurt a lot even though i'd rarely die, so it was a waste of healing items.

super metroid is my favorite game ever, but maridia can be SUCH a pain sometimes

a lot of people would mention oot's water temple. i guess i would too, although i never found it confusing like other people do...but it's still annoying simply because of how unbearably slow it is and how you have to keep going into the menu to switch boots
