November 18th, $300 for 8gb (white), $350 for 32gb (black, comes with NintendoLand, controller charging stand, regular controller stand, a system stand, and 2 years of "Deluxe Digital Promotion", which is basically just discounts and rewards for digital purchases). Both systems also come with sensor bars (unlike the japanese versions), and HDMI cables (p. cool).
New games:
Bayonetta 2 (Exclusive)
Black Ops II
007 Legends
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
Also Nintendo TVii, which combines your Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Video, TiVo recordings, and live tv. It actually looks really nice.
Project P100 is now The Wonderful 101, and NSMBU and NintendoLand are launch titles. They said the rest of the launch titles haven't been set in stone just yet. Oh, and looks like you can transfer all of your WiiWare and Virtual Console games to the system, so that's pretty nice.

NSMBU at least looks nice graphically, but it's just going to be the same boring NSMB. Wonderful 101 looks fun. ZombiU looks like a typical launch title game, it's probably the Wii U's Red Steel akudood;
Pikmin 3 does look great though. Lego City Undercover looks like an excellent game for kids, but not really something I'd want for myself.
Why the hell would you get black ops 2 though
When I get one it'll be the Deluxe bundle as well, and I'll probably put my spare 8GB memory card in it, or maybe get an external hdd to hook up to it if they're cheap enough. Still I don't think I'll be able to afford one for another year or so, but by then there will be more games and such anyways. Maybe if I get a job soon and make a good amount of money I can get one this year though wrench;
I'm just happy to finally have variety at launch. sillydood;

It's 2012 and they can't do better than 32 GB?
It can support external hard drives up to 3 TB.
I think Reggie said something about how they didn't want to make the system cost more due to more storage, when prices for storage is declining rapidly these days so whatever they buy to put in it would be much cheaper in a couple years, so they thought it was better for people that even want more storage to buy it themselves at a better price

If they had a system in place for the common request of keeping data when a Wii breaks and is replaced, this wouldn't be an issue goowan
and the problem of having a sensor bar applies more to people who don't own a Wii at all rather than those who used to have one. I think people tend to forget or exclude things like the sensor bar when selling a system somewhere like Gamestop.

Though I haven't actually tried Kinect or PS Move, the idea behind the sensor bar seems more reliable and useful to me than visible light cameras sound like they would be.
also I rather like being able to point at onscreen objects by only using wrist movements.

Just think, they could have had the controller be more independent of the console and made games specifically for it. Like a handheld that connects up to the console but only larger.

There's no point in buying one because there's no games out that support multiple GamePads. So I don't see the point in being upset. While yes, it's a high price, they'll drop it because no one will buy it.

maybe you have hardwood floors and drop your controller 6 inches and it breaks
hope you got 200 bux
If they have hardwood floors, they likely have that kind of money.

Just think, they could have had the controller be more independent of the console and made games specifically for it. Like a handheld that connects up to the console but only larger.
that would be seen as nintendo abandoning the 3ds

... And the DS, GBA, GB, and the Wii. goowan
a) all of those but the wii are handhelds, not consoles
b) removing gamecube compatibility and printing the logo sideways is hardly a redesign baddood;
wth man
Personally I think Nintendo has lost it's thinking ability.
It's possible a third party would make replacement controller but why would Nintendo accept that? doodhuh;
Quote from: Snowy on September 19, 2012, 04:41:22 AM
a) But they've all had redesigns goowan
b) if it's changed from it's original design it's a redesign. goowan
a) but i was specifically talking about consoles
b)so is the 60gb ps3 a redesign from the 80gb ps3? akudood;
also you guys nintendo has said if your controller breaks you can buy a new one through tech support or whatever
So you have to call them and wait for it to ship rather than going to the store ?
I'm gone for a couple of days and this is still happening. akudood;

so now we know who's really at fault here. thanks a lot.
further proof that boyah needs you, tyler :(
Apparently. akudood;
Also going back to where Hiro said I haven't called other companies out for redesigning consoles, david was correct. I have commented on Sony and the PSP. Different revisions of the PS3 have also caught flak from me.
I give Microsoft a pass on the 360 Slim because it specifically fixed issues where 1/5- 1/2 (depending on the source) of systems were getting a RROD. They offered extended warranties on the defective systems and redesigned it so new systems didn't have that defect.
That is far different than Sony taking the PSP, stripping out UMDs, and putting the screen on a slider or Nintendo releasing the DSLite, DSi, and DSi XL one after another. Neither of the redesigns by Sony or Nintendo were to address major hardware failure on the scale of the original 360.
Wow, what an M$ fanboy
But what he said is all true. baddood;

What's your definition of a redesign? Having a body/case/chassis that, ignoring external connectors and removable covers, has a different shape and size?
Any other definition, like nontrivial differences in hardware features intended to replace the previous console version, would include both cases of backwards compatibility loss.
but I guess even the Gamecube has similar differences between its versions, considering the digital AV port was removed.

nintendo is truly regressing. time to put it out of its misery.

As was expected, considering they've never had a region-unlocked console and even the handhelds have become region locked ever since DSi

Are any of the crossover games going to actually be different graphically than PS3/360 games?
It depends on the company, Aubrey. Some are upgrading, but for some reason EA's game are downgrading.
multiplatform games rarely look substantially better on more powerful consoles anyways
black orps 2 supposedly runs at 1080p on the weeoo compared to its sub-hd resolution on the other two consoles

Well, all I'LL have at launch is Nintendo Land (comes with my system) and New Super Mario Bros. U. I'm alright with that though.
I really haven't had much time to play games anyway. I'll also pick up The Wonderful 101 when it comes out.
