Classics are
Illmatic, Reasonable Doubt, Ready To Die, AmeriKKKa'z Most Wanted, The Blueprint, It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back, Aquemini, Supreme Clientele, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, 36 Chambers, Liquid Swords, Midnight Marauders, The Low End Theory, Doggystyle, The Chronic AND The Chronic 2001, Things Fall Apart, Illadelph Halflife, Can I Borrow A Dollar?, Resurrection, One Day It'll All Make Sense, et al.
Yeah, his style is different. I've told other people already that I liken
TC3 to Ye's
Graduation in the sense that they both went different directions and still managed to make a good album. But to call this a classic is to spit in the face in all of those albums I just named. Shit,
TC3 ain't even even seeing
Tha Carter on it's
worst day.
DON'T BELIEVE THE

Lol.
Tha Carter? Tha Carter catered to the South more than anything. Tha Carter III is way better than TC.
And you forgot to add Marshall Mathers Lp in your list of classics.
He elevated his flow, style, and everything on this album. I consider it a classic.

Not catered to the south as in only made for them, but it had a more southern feel to it. I'm in Philly and I love the cd. What's your point?

You're stupid if you think "there's no argument about it."
First of all, you're trying to disprove an
opinion. I think the Carter III is classic. Nuts in my mouth?
I too can say take Jay's nuts out yours for considering the Blueprint a classic; he dumbed down his lyrics and it was filled with bullshit girl/ party crap, but it was still hot in it's own way for it's time. That's what makes a classic.
Jay-z had some of the wackest lines; "Every time I hit the ground I bounce up like round ball." Come on man.
But the corny lines are overlooked because of his status and previous work; he has already proved a good lyricist, so he can get away with the bullshit, just like Wayne with the aforementioned line you said.
Lmao at you comparing GRODT with TC I. They are in no way similiar.

Philly and NYC are two completely different cities in terms of damn near everything so throwing that disclaimer really meant nothing.
So because an album has a southern feel to it it can't be widely praised and/or liked? Is that what you're trying to say? All those people that liked
Tha Carter all rock with
Trap Muzik,
Thug Motivation 101,
The Fix, ALL OUTKAST, ALL UGK . . . see where I'm going? When it comes down to THE MUSIC, regions don't mean shit. If your music is hot than your music is hot and you get recognition for that.

Point out where I hopped on ANY artist's nuts. GO AHEAD.
You asked for classic albums, I gave you
definitive classic albums.
But see, now you're just talking about shit you don't know . . . NOW I'll have to "hop on" Jay's nuts because your silly ass is talking reckless. "Bullshit girl/party crap" . . . hmm, let's see:
The Ruler's Back
Takeover
U Don't Know
Hola Hovito
Heart Of The City (Ain't No Love)
Never Change
All I Need
Renegade
Blueprint (Momma Loves Me)/Lyrical Exercise
So according to you, there's 4 tracks of "Bullshit girl/party crap". But the thing people don't seem to understand is that, like B.I.G. and like Nas, Hov never falters and brings heat to
EVERY track. Problem is, half it goes over niggas heads. Dumb down his lyrics? Give me more lines where he "dumbed" himself down. That round ball line is better than half the shit Wayne has been saying the past year. And no, Weezy does not get the same pass that you claim that Jay does because Jay never sacrificed the quality of his music. Once again, walk up to anybody that knows ANYTHING about rap talking that "Blueprint ain't a classic" bullshit . . . I warn you, you WILL get the taste slapped out your mouth.

Go to a forum that debates all day about this type of shit like me. The majority of the people there recgonize this album as one the best they have heard in a while. I never said it couldn't be praised by everyone, but he has shown growth from his southern-style and now has elevated.
Jay-Z even claimed himself he dumbed down his Lyrics(check Moment of Clarity on the Black Album). psyduck; So defending him is pointless and making you sound like a clown. Shit, Jay even said "now it's your go" to Wayne on the song "Mr. Carter." The GOAT officially passed the baton to him, so to try and argue that Wayne isn't being molded into one of the best this game has seen is a lost cause.
In my opinion, I said it's a classic. Now, will it be accepted as one by the Hip Hop world, we don't know yet.
And no, Philly and New York aren't that different.
And you say that as if people from Philly listen/hear to music differently than New Yorkers. psyduck;

How'd he "officially pass(ed) the baton to him" when Jay still has another album to put under his Def Jam contract and signed a contract stating he had put 3 albums in the 10 years that he's signed? What, you think Jay, the cocky, egotistical nig

I like 50, but lyrically he isn't on none of the people's level you just mentioned. He might be at 5 because he can make some hits, but when it comes to actual rapping and being the biggest in Hip Hop at this moment, the lists goes a little different.

Kanye
Jay

Funny, I hate 50 but there is no denying HIM the buzz he creates for ANYTHING that has to do with him.
Like I said, just because an album is hot does not mean it's a classic. Just because an artist is hot at the time does not mean he has ascended the ranks. All of those albums I named? Those are classics, they've stood the test of time. Jay-Z, Nas, OutKast, UGK, Common, Scarface, Ghostface . . . THOSE are GREAT rappers who deserve all the credit in the world. They've put out quality music for over 10 years (some even 20 years) and still managed to stay relevant

Not considered one of the best lyricists back then, but he was always relevant to the game. Yo, the song is crazy. Concept was definitely something fresh and his execution was good.
One of the songs that most people might not like but I do, and it contains a line that you frowned upon is "Phone Home."
I find the concept of him being "a martian" and all, and how he likes to consider himself an alien hot. The hook is catchy too, and Cool and Dre provided a different and fitting beat.
But as of now, my favorite track is "Tie My Hands." Robin Thicke was the highlight of that song.

In that order.
