I think there are two reasonable options:

1. Anime as child board of The Arts. Yeah, it would be a little less visible, but as a standalone board it would be an outlying on-topic forum that has way less activity than every other board, and takes up valuable vertical space. 

2. Anime renamed 'Anime, Manga, and [Japanese Shit]' or something like that, and left as its own board.

I also agree with thyme. The whole reason I suggested an anime board was to get rid of anime discussion from the chat thread and arts board. I don't want that exciting red folder to merely represent a weeaboo post

Keeping anime discussion as a child board would not overtake the parent board.
It would eliminate "anime discussion" altogether if it were merged.

It would still be completely segregated as a child board, but I get the concern about seeing them combined in latest posts / new post icons... ideas for renaming of the anime board (see above)?
