It looks like it could very well be real. This image fits the old "leaked factory images" as well.

I honestly don't care what it looks like, as long as its cheaper than the current PS3 then were good.

Yeah no, that's one's definitely fake. I believe it was discovered that they took the images from a Flickr user's mock-up gallery.

I think most people who care about it, care about it because it'll reduce the cost of producing a PlayStation 3 and hopefully reduce the price of the system itself not because it's smaller than the current model.  doodhuh;

 I am so excited.

If the price is reasonable and it has BC with the PS2, I will definitely pick one up mid-2010, maybe during the holiday season when all of the killer PS3 exclusive games are released (GOD OF FUCKING WAAAAAR).

it probably won't be backwards compatibnle with the ps2 and according to the rumors it's $299 n_u
