DEFINITELY listen to All The World's a Stage. Really good album, Rush rules live.

Oh and just to rub things into people's faces. I got Rush's first album on vinyl.
I have Signals on vinyl, and it's way better than their first album.

I disagrees. The first album has Working Man. And a bunch of other hard rocking songs.

Eh, Working Man and all the rest are pretty weak and way too generic for my tastes. If you like hard-rocking Rush, Fly By Night is superior.

I don't really think the first one is the best... I just like it. Very Zeppelinesque.

Not very into their synth erea, including the one you got, Signals. Most Rush I listen to is from the debut to Moving Pictures. Not really into their ninties and 00's stuff either.

I'd rather just listen to Led Zeppelin.

Every man to his own, I guess. Personally, I dig their synth era-onward stuff, albeit not as much as their Fly By Night-Signals output.

Wait though, consider this logic:

More music from a band you like = good
One song = bored eventually
Multiple songs = satisfying
An artist similar to the band you like = MOAR SONGS

Which is why Rush's debut is great for hard rock fans.

Which is also why Rush's debut isn't great for people who see music as an art form and not as semi-disposable entertainment.

I hate people who don't listen to anything that isn't 'artistic'. Yeah, I know there's shitty bands we should avoid, but what ever happened to having fun with your music?

Listen, pal, I decide for myself whether there's art in a given sample of music or not. I find art in AC/DC. I find art in Led Zeppelin. It's called subjectivity. And believe me, I'm all for having fun with music - what good would music be if it wasn't fun? I'm just sick and tired of people treating music like it's candy.

Well, where's the lack of art in Rush's first album?

The first album is okay, not great.

Much rather listen to anything but it. Even Roll the Bone.
