Ok, I think it's crap because its analysts try to find some deep hidden meaning that they just pulled out of their ass. It seems to really be a story of a guy telling his story of floating down a river to meet a guy he becomes instantly disillusioned with, and then selling out his principles to protect the feelings of Kurtz's wife.

Personally, I did not learn anything or take anything significant from it, and aside from that, I did not find it very entertaining or enthralling.

Now what is so spectacular about it?

The book's about his descent into madness. If you couldn't figure that out... Jesus Christ.

So what? What's the point of it? And what makes that so great when put in comparison to other books?

The point of the book was to show the darkness in mankind. Were you reading this book or Goosebumps? It's excellent storytelling and motifs?

Goosebumps... olol. Maybe I should make a cheap crack at your grammar. That would help amirite

Again... not too special of a theme. One of the most common and overdone in literature.

Because the book made it popular, genius. Why do you think the book is so famous?

Somehow I doubt that it took authors until the colonization of Africa to realize the darkness in the human spirit.

It may have made it popluar, but it was not anything new to literature.

Yeah, I pulled Sophocles out of my ass. I'm not summarizing three books at 1 in the morning. Since you love the theme so much, you can read them yourself.

Thanks for respecting my opinion, good night.
