Linkin Park.

I have nothing wrong with RHCP, though I don't like listening to them.

If anything, the other way around. RHCP at least knows how to stir things up, both instrumentally and just with music structures in general. They're a staple of alternative rock, even if there are many alt. rock bands that I like more.

Linkin Park is incredibly stale and boring when it's not just plain bad. Generally nothing wholly offensive to the ears, but boring still.

I saw Animal Collective last night and it was really incredible.

I saw AC on the 19th of last month and thought it was only so-so.

They tried to improvise too much, and it rarely came together. Too much random screaming.

The parts that were good were really good though. You could tell when things meshed and flowed just right.

Maybe they were just a little sloppy that night.

That's interesting. They improvised a lot (to the point where halfway through "Fireworks" I couldn't even tell it was Fireworks) but mostly instrumentally and there wasn't much screaming at all. Mostly just instrumental. The only thing that I thought detracted from it was how much they improvised... I think making a five minute song a nine minute song is a little much and I wish they would have had a better setlist (it was good and varied, but it could have been better and I was really hoping for purple bottle and/or for reverend green)

Also, when My Girls came on everybody got really cute when the "woo" thing happened which just made the whole night better.
