The problem here isn't so much the blistering temperatures like Ph*enix, Y*ma or Lake Havas* but the fact that people think they can build housing without air conditioning up here
Id rather exist in a 110 degree city with A.C. than one in the 80s without it myface;
not to mention the house we live in is ridiculously poorly insulated
Same here yesterday my poor A.C. was set for 75 but could only keep it at 80 something :'(

our heater can be set to 70 but it barely heats any part of the house outside of the downstairs room to above 60

I didn't know it was that much of a problem, when we set it above 65 my room shoots up to 85 lmao >.<
also just looked at it and it goes up to 90 actually, but who knows how much that would cost to maintain @_@
I'm perfectly fine in the summer here if the windows are open and the fan is on medium or high
in Phoenix I'm only okay if the AC is 1) actually good and 2) on full blast

 Damn I guess it's true that Arizona really is just a lame Texas without all the cool shit and with more racists.  akudood;

Hiro

Texas is definitely more racist than Arizona. Almost every study I can see has Texas somewhere around the top 5 for racism while Arizona is typically in the middle of the 50 somewhere. I would argue Texas school districts are the most blatantly racist in the country

Texas probably does have more cool shit though. San Antonio alone is fun. I hear good things about Austin. Houston and Dallas are... there.

Hiro

yeah houston and dallas seem like fucking nightmares

Kalahari Inkantation

it peaked at around 102° during my brief stay in phx

I guess I got lucky. 5thgrade;

but even that was hard to tolerate

god bless air conditioning and god bless sunscreen

the temperatures at the rim of the canyon are similar to those in flagstaff throughout most of the year.  if you came in autumn you'd probably never deal with a temperature over 25 [assuming you flew into flagstaff and not phoenix]
