also as the size of games continues to grow, the ~50gb capacity of standard blu ray discs could become a significant limitation for the ps4 that the new xbox won't have to worry about

i can assure you that that mandate will only be very weakly enforced though (if at all) lol

the definition of "playable" for the lesser ps4 will go from being 24fps/720p and moderately buggy to 16fps/640p and game-breakingly buggy

Even if they supported BDXL movies, they wouldn't use them for games because of that promise of remaining compatible with existing PS4s.

My question was the opposite: if I get a PS4 Pro, is there a guarantee that, out of all the existing PS4 games, none of them will become a buggy mess or possibly even unplayable on the new hardware?

back in the days i would have needed 3 with my 2-ports PS3:
one for the controller
one for the rock band adapters
one for a usb stick

but now with spotify and the lack of video media transfer there's not much need for a usb stick
and harmonix is like a small activision now so fuck them tbh
