i don't mean like wii sports or casual bs
like what are good games that are easy to pick up and play with a bunch of people around?

obv super smash bros (pref 64 or P:M for casual play). i always try and do 2v2 with team attack on if people are down but they are usually plebs so we just play ffa with items on extra low

however i think bomberman is my all time favorite party game. have played a shit ton of bomberman '93 just because i have it on my wii but i recently bought bomberman 64 and would like to pick up one of the snes versions with a multitap as well

Some of the party games I've played with my roommates/guests include:
Smash, Kirby Air Ride, Mario Kart, NintendoLand, Mario Party, Sports Friends, Spelunky, Jackbox Party Pack (Drawful & Fibbage)

I haven't played Dokapon Kingdom, but I've heard it's good too.

I don't know if they're considered party games, but there are also 4P co-op story games like:
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Kirby Wii, Super Mario 3D World, Zelda FSA, Dragon's Crown

I don't know of any other notable games besides Smash U and Jackbox Party Pack which support more than 5 players.

don't let's

Halo
Ddr (do they still make ddr?)

Though casual games pretty much make up the best party games since they are so easy to pick up and play since the learning curve ain't all great for a lot of them.

I feel like most fighting games would work, especially if you set up some kind of tournament

Dokapon kingdom is actually really fun but Ive never gotten a group to stick with it for a solid round
Basically Mario party w/ rpg elements. Good fun

they do if you play with the right people. I recall quite recently, last year to be exact, i played goldeneye with a group of friends before I left Cali and we had a blast.

Gauntlet Dark Legacy
The Simpsons Arcade Game
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Arcade Game

Gauntlet is still fun to me (specifically Legends)
Too bad you can't get Simpsons or X-men arcade games anymore on PSN/XBLA
