Video Games you thought you would never play without boyah talking about them

there's a lot, but some recent/noteworthy examples include:

-super metroid
-klonoa
-castlevania
-skyrim
-donkey kong country series

the only metroid i had any experience with before boyah was the original prime, which i honestly found kind of meh and led me to conclude that the series as a whole probably wasn't exactly for me

turns out i was wrong, it's just that the 2d games >>> the 3d ones and super metroid is now one of my favorite games ever lol

i was aware of the existence of both klonoa and castlevania, but as a child of the n64 era i had very little knowledge about and very little interest in them until john and kaz heavily suggested i play them

klonoa turned out to be a great decision, and i'm sure i'll feel the same about castlevania once i'm further into sotn

of course, thyme's enthusiasm about skyrim was the primary motivating factor behind my decision to play it, i almost certainly wouldn't have touched it otherwise because i was intimidated by its sheer size, i generally dislike first-person gameplay and despite my affinity for the souls games i hadn't been quite convinced that i could stomach hardxxre (w)rpgs yet

and now skyrim is one of my top 5 games of the seventh gen lol #babbysfirstwrpg[/spoiler]

the dkc series is another i played at the behest of kaz and other boyagers and that also turned out to be an excellent recommendation, and i have a massive backlog of other boyager-suggested games that i'll gradually play through and more than likely appreciate

Anyway uhh, I wouldnt have really gotten around to any GTA game or RDR if not for Boyagers.

yeah now having played it i wouldn't call it one either but that's part of why i like it

i would get frustrated with a game like morrowind within ten minutes lol

i haven't played paper moiro yet so i didn't mention it but it's one of the many on my backlog (along with okami and a final fantasy and fallout 3 and a bunch of others)

david's enthusiasm about rdr and uncharted amplified my own interest in them and they're of course some of the best of the 7th gen too lol

and there's also san andreas, which is good but feels somewhat archaic to a spoiled brat like me who played iv and v before it

honestly if i turn out to like vii i'll probably end up playing vi and ix and x anyway lol

because i already own vii (ty psn sales) i'll almost certainly be starting with that, but like i said if i find it enjoyable enough i'll eventually play the other good ones lol

my tastes were limited almost exclusively to post-snes nintendo first party titles before boyah lol, so when i got a ps3 (itself a boyah suggestion, though probably a premature one) i found myself relying on it (at least in part) for recommendations
