Sony doesn't own Metal Gear Solid, either - so far it's all been characters from IPs that they personally own.

But I wouldn't doubt that they'd try to get him in anyway.

sony's dev team for this game is not melee tourney players - they're people making a game that is attempting to compete with current smash bros. formula, made for a console they're currently competing with.
