have either of you had a bad trip with shrooms

Just wondering because my roommates might get some saturday and play the halo remake and I might want to partake  akudood;
Well my experience was bad in that my friend had a bad experience. I just kind of wanted to throw up, which was unpleasant but exasperated by my friend freaking the fuck out because he thought he was dead. He thought everyone was gone even though we were right there in the room with him. And his life flashed before his eyes.

But I had an okay time once he went to sleep and then recomposed himself. I got really fucking introspective though, which messed with my head because I'm already pretty introspective to begin with. My internal voice was like yelling at me. Idk though, the shrooms we had were kind of a bad batch but I still saw some interesting shapes in front of my eyes and people's faces morphed around and stuff.

I guess it wasn't the happy go-lucky experience some people have but it was still interesting. Just know going in that you will be fine, don't doubt yourself if you commit to it. It's like a roller coaster, once you're on it, you're committed and may as well enjoy the twists and turns. Don't worry about what could go wrong (as far as a bad trip) and you'll have a blast

That is a terrible idea, but mushrooms are a great idea. Typically you need either very introspective activities (honest conversation will do) or vast expanses of nature to enjoy mushrooms... I mean, unless you really, really love Halo. It's up to you. Basically all mushrooms do is remove the veil from everything so you see it and respond to it exactly how it is -- no lies, no tricks, no pretending. It can be incredibly awkward and incredibly beautiful. Most people think about 'tripping' like some kind of loopy hallucinogenic thing, but it's far more psychological than that (you'll see what I mean).

I've never had a bad trip, no. Every single experience I've had with mushrooms has left me with a profound feeling of fulfillment, invigorated by the joy of being, and more eager than ever to swim into the boundless future... I highly recommend it, but make sure you do one thing beforehand: don't fool yourself about anything.

Go for it.  happydood;

Yep, that's pretty decent advice. Mushroomy trips are very binary... you can feel on, full, happy, infinite, or you can feel off, scared, dead. Those are the only two options, just remember you can switch between them at any time with a single thought.

No, but I know that it fucks with your head and you can lose your grip on reality. Limitations you've placed on yourself seem to slip away I hear. Which can be great... or terrible.

Ohhhh okay n_u

My friends once told me they wanted to try every drug out there. Which was childishly ambitious and cute, but horrible in practice. I would never let them do PCP or meth or any of that junk. Partially selfishly because I doubt I could have continued being their friend if they had, I wanted to try more psych shit girl;

Right now, two things on the top of my list:

-make chiptunes
-make retro-style games

And use said chiptunes in said games. I mean, I know how to use Game Maker (it's really easy) so it's not like I couldn't make a game but making my own sprites is hell (I've been there before, I gave up fast - no spriting talent in me). Plus with Game Maker I would be rather limited...the games can be .exe only, and the programming can be pretty counter-intuitive at times, and that's a limit in itself.

But I am getting that old itch to start trying my hand at making games with that little program again. Each time it happens, though, I never get very far.

There you go. And it's free and easy to use to boot.
Now you have no excuse.

I assume since you're running mac osx you probably have garageband. You can pick the plug-in right in the menus inside and attach them to virtual tracks.

Here's a pretty good resource for understanding simple waveforms and how they sound and work.

Here's a cheap and portable 25 key midi keyboard. You can plink out some tunes while you're waiting for class to start. Bim.

Ambition doesn't exist. Either you want to do something, or you don't.

I think it would be cool to try to learn an instrument again. I doubt I will ever be able to write music and I'm rather in awe of those who do.

But just learning to play something would be a nice step. I've got a keyboard sitting at home I could try out...

Same here. I want a keyboard but I haven't been able to afford one  >_<'

maybe I will get a cheap one this christmas
