are any of the soul gems full?
if so you go into the weapons menu
Press R2 (I have no idea what it is for the xbutts version) then you choose which soul gem you want to use

also mfw weapon recharging isn't mapped on R2 itself but rather whatever the shout button is, which will be R2 for most people but since I remapped it to L2, that got confusing for a while since it said to press R2 at the bottom of the screen

Did some more companion quests, started the thieves guild, did another part of the main quest.

And you don't have to have any enchantment perks to be able to recharge weapons.

Yup. Just unequip all your weapons (use fists) and crouch down. Make sure you are hidden then SMACK then stop until eyes are closed again. Rinse and repeat.

Upping the difficulty makes it go faster also.

apparently it's really good

it is for me, because its power is directly related to the Destruction skill and is affected by the Augmented Flames perk in that tree

it's an odd weapon that way

plus it has an automatic soul trap, which is great, and stamina damage too which is really helpful for harder battles

i'm amazed at how long it can take to get anything done in this game

like last night i played for an hour before bed and only managed to do the alduin's wall quest, which is nothing but seeing esbern and then seeing delphine and then going to skyhaven temple

yet between that, killing a dragon, smithing, alchemy, bartering, and just general walking around, an hour was gone already
