I know we all have some sort of goal and desire for what we get out of life, but in reality some of these simply aren't viable. For me it would to make everyone happy. I mean literally every single person in the world. I know that will never happen no matter how hard I try. So instead I just try to make everyone around me happy. Either through random acts of kindness like buying them lunch or giving away things like video games or something without being asked, and other random things like that. It's nearly impossible to actually achieve that goal too. Even though I would do anything for pretty much anyone, it still isn't going to make everyone happy simply because life throws so many curve balls. The most you can do about those in a lot of the cases is simply to give moral support.

So yeah, what is your most lofty unobtainable goal?

Scale your goal down. Aim to make a certain subset happy. Volunteer.

Super lofty goals are fantasies, not goals.

Oh I know and do scale it down I was just making a thread on things like that, which you'd like to do but know is impossible

also i would like to spend a brief period of my life as a literal cat.

We wanted to blast the world free of history.... picture yourself planting radishes and seed potatoes on the fifteenth green of a forgotten golf course.  You'll hunt elk through the damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center, and dig clams next to the skeleton of the Space Needle leaning at a forty-five degree angle.  We'll paint the skyscrapers with huge totem faces and goblin tikis, and every evening what's left of mankind will retreat to empty zoos and lock itself in cages as protection against the bears and big cats and wolves that pace and watch us from outside the cage bars at night.

I think we all agreed in another thread that we want to obliterate humanity, let's make this happen. WE TAKIN IT BACK

Yeah, I was going to say a tribal lifestyle might be fun but then again I don't know if that's unobtainable since tribes do exist...

I suppose civilization does impede on that a bit however

Well, to be a jet setter I guess?

I want to get to a point where people respect my opinions and the work I do.

I think I'm just going to copy and paste from my tumblr since I wrote about this already

QuoteI’m constantly thinking about when I’m older. Part of it, is that I’ll have grey hair, and that is my ultimate goal. Another part of why I think of getting older is that when I’m older, someone will respect my opinions. I’ll be able to do or say what I want, and there will (hopefully) be some reverence to that. I want to do things that are somewhat self-indulgent. Things that only I would probably appreciate, but then someone would find a deeper meaning or have it affect their lives personally, thereby giving themselves an attachment to something that was strictly your own, if any of that makes sense.

so yeah

You don't need to be old for that to happen.

it seems like most of the time respect is gained over time.

I don't think I'm capable of doing things that garner instant respect from people.
