Currently/just finished watching/reading anime/manga thread.

the character design is pretty lackluster and i didn't much like the arc about hijacking online personas

but other than that i've enjoyed all of it so far. i've watched up until the end of the "hunting" arc

the show obv. changes a lot from the point you're at and becomes much less episodic. so the first half of the show is basically just setup for the main conflict(s), and i understand why they did it that way, but i think it made the show less interesting than it should have been for me idk

also watch out for the pointless episode about the dark-haired ponytail enforcer girl. it's just there and doesn't add anything to the show really

i didn't say it was as good

but too much of it was similar


weird giant monsters appear out of nowhere
only one unique young man can defeat them
the only way to defeat them is to become one of them
the pilot of the monster becomes unconscious and needs to be torn out
taking them out is difficult because it's too hot to touch
etc
