Also, what would I have to do to get NES A/V output onto my laptop, and thus be able to stream live gameplay footage?

That doesn't stop me from playing my games. I'm more concerned about being able to play homebrew games.

It's incredibly easy to run homebrew on your Wii to play NES and SNES games along with several others.

For the novelty of it? Plus having the full library of the better part of two decades of consoles at your disposal is pretty nice too

I'm sure it is, but the Wii controller is notably different from the NES controller.
