is there any real point in balancing checkbooks anymore

I deposited $1360 in checks last night and they still aren't showing in my account doodthing;

This is a reason to balance checkbooks since something transactions such as paychecks take a while to post. It gets more complicated when it happens between statements.

Exactly, I've gone days without spending money, but my statement will still change as things update

no, my bank even has scans of every check I write available online if I need to review them
