Such as?  Recognizing a shared common history, community and sense of citizenship is the opposite of "idiocy" and "ignorance". It promotes equality, responsibility and humility towards something much larger and more significant than your self consumed world.

Government? Have you actually played attention to the words of the pledge? Republic, one nation, indivisible, liberty, justice (for all). I don't see government in there, my national pride and patriotism for the US goes beyond any administration and or party. Yes, they do teach history here in Philadelphia.

hotlikesauce.

God doesn't apply singularly to Christians doodthing;

Also, saying the pledge at all is moronic considering that it's a nationalistic loyalty oath.

Well, it doesn't, but most people where i am are prodaminantly (sp?) Christian.

And, yeah. It sounds like they're tying you hand and foot to the country or something.  =/

Chrstian is the main religion. There is Catholicism, and others, and they branch off into bunches of others.

Most people where I live are Christian.

There's nothing wrong with pride in your nation, but promising your alleigance to it no matter what is another matter.

huh

Thinking the rest of the world is terrible, uncivilized, and evil is what all this patriotism causes.

You need to learn how to read.

Christianity is the main religion where I live. Do you live in Stockbridge, Georgia?

No, you don't, so shut the hell up.
