Does it work if you have a WiFi USB connector like what you use for the DS?

Yup, that's exactly what I use to get online with both the DS and Wii.

Seriously, Nintendo stopped making those Wifi USB things because they felt bad for stealing money from people who don't know what wireless routers are.

They're like $30 for a wireless router
