dude, as if you've played doom with mouse directional controls lol

anyway, the clunkiness of trying to use a mouse for directional movement is legitimately pointless to try to deal with. thankfully, source ports typically allow you to use a more modern setup. that i can live with. additional modding like mouselook is pretty pointless and detrimental to the experience tho imo

aside from vanilla doom's controls tho, i think the game has otherwise aged marvelously. it's still fast, fun and challenging and has some cool tunes. and who plays vanilla doom anyway? everyone plays improved source ports.

(to be fair, even vanilla doom allowed you to use keyboard + mouse, it just wasn't wasd and used the arrow keys instead and you couldn't reconfigure it normally and it was still kinda clunky)

I think, considering it IS a GameCube game, it still looks quite good.

i was incredibly impressed by re4's graphics and physics/technology (pre-baked or not) when i first played it last year on wii

Apparently, Nier Automata has a jab on the Nintendo 64, as an item in the game described as "trash."

And also, apparently due to "fan backlash," the devs will patch the game to change the name of the item.

Aren't gamers the best?

somehow i'm not surprised, """gamers""" love getting offended on behalf of billion-dollar corporations

though personally i can't help but wonder why the beef with the n64 in particular lol

Quote from: C.Mongler on February 28, 2017, 06:43:36 AM
yeah most n64 games aged like shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit

especially the first person shooters. a few platformers (banjos & mario 64) and the zoldos are really the only things that stood the test of time and even then

don't you dare forget star fox 64
