Make sure to completely finish The Labyrinth of Amala and get the best ending in the game.

If you don't, you are a gigantic wuss. giggle;

[spoiler]kate's inclusion in the endgame felt so spurious and forced that i couldn't care about her at all

>threatening to ditch niko when she knows absolutely nothing about him or his history
>niko bothering to ask for her opinion in the first place when he knows she knows nothing

that was def. a huge aspect of the bad storytelling i mentioned earlier

Luckily she's the one who suffers if you take her terrible advice.  I felt no remorse. tomatoes;

You encounter the Labyrinth of Amala during the story in the sewers after defeating Matador and then you're allowed to go back to it at any time you wish. It's broken into five different sections, each one being quite difficult in its own way. And of course, enemy levels go up quite a bit in each section.

The enemies in there are pretty tough, so it's actually a pretty good place to grind. Defeating the whole dungeon will automatically give you the "true demon" ending, but that's only if you go down to the very last room. You could finish the whole thing and just not meet the old man at the bottom and still get whatever other ending you might have been going for. And I recommend it, mostly because doing it will give you access to all sorts of useful demons and items. And also access to the three hardest bosses in the game.

Also, you need to defeat The Fiends in order to unlock all of it. Some of them you have to fight during the story, but most of them are optional and in old areas you've been to already.

And of course, this is all optional. You don't have to bother with any of it, if you're a gigantic wuss. madood;
