The new 40gb PS3s do not play any PS2 or PS1 games at all.
The 80gb plays only a percentage of them.

Reason why? Cheaper to make and because Sony "wants you to play PS3 games and not PS2 games"

So that news is about three months old now. But now recently Sony announced a new ever more slim them the PSTWO (aka PS2 Slim) model. $99 and even smaller. Holy crap facepalm.jpg

Woops, it's not smaller at all, it's more expensive and the AC adapter is built it and it's not coming to America as far as we know.

Kalahari Inkantation

More expensive just because the power supple is built-in? That's pretty stupid. Lately it seems that all Son'y's been doing is half-redesigning their systems. The PSP Slim is pretty much exactly the same as the original PSP, although a little slimmer with a few things moved around, and this new PS2 is the same as the old PS2 Slim with a built-in power supply, for $10.00 more. If they're going to redesign something, they should at least make it worth the extra $10.00.

Hm, I really wouldn't imagine upgrading to that unless my PlayStation 2 Slim goes to hell on me... Which I don't think will happen any time soon.  caterpie;
But, if it's cheaper in the United States and it comes in Ceramic White right at launch I may think about it.
