Well what about the games before X that was the same thing except without the updated visuals? Just because X JUST so happened to be the game you got tired of the formula doesn't mean it sucks.

Complete change in music, abilities (other than the standard weapon), boss fights (finally no more ___ Man) difficulty, and just the overall presentation of the game. It was an update on many levels.

Because that would've made it horrible. Mega Man was a platforming shoot-em-up. That's what it's best at being. X however did add speed to the gameplay, making quicker charged shots and dashing/climbing possible.

Yes, and I suppose playing the same shit that you've played 8 games ago is awesome. Personally I think the X series would have made a great turned based RPG if presented correctly.

But I certainly find 2D RPG's to be a hell of a lot better presented than 3D's.
Which is why I'd take a 2D Pokemon over 3D anyday.
