Alright, kids, let me tell you a story: Once upon a time, many years ago, there was a company called Bungie. At the time, Bungie was a new company and no one had heard about them or their games, until the fateful day they released a brand new first-person shooter called Marathon for Macintosh computers (yes, people used to game on Macs. Weird, huh?). The game achieved popularity and two sequels were released. Unfortunately, this popularity did not last. Windows became the dominant OS, causing people to stop releasing games for Macs, and Marathon was all but forgotten when Bungie released a little game called Halo.

So, you ask, why did I make this thread? Because the Marathon trilogy is now available as freeware for Mac, Windows, and Linux and can be downloaded here: http://source.bungie.org/get/

I highly recommend that you check it out.

Very awesome, never played those though.

Also I bet you that they'll never release Doom as freeware.

Shit, I keep forgetting Bungie made Doom.

But yeah, they can keep repackaging Doom for years. People will still buy it.
