the reason youth hate the boomers is because they're a generation of people who never let go of their youth and refuse to let the following generations grow.

pacman is STILL the only good game ever and you kids need to grow up and quit playing them!
scooby doo should never die
consider that the sense of gross entitlement we attribute to boomers is something they grew into with age since most brag about coming up from absolutely nothing and it's in no way better today since children expect each other to all wear brand name clothing and have expensive smartphones.
i think the more troubling concern is that 20 year olds are already nostalgic and trying to buy their childhood back with endless shitty remakes of games and toys. imagine those people having a midlife crisis
i'm moving to antarctica. kids these days can fuck off
Society will never get any better than what it is as long as any humans exist.
^^^ What Far said.
And as long as society wants to get rid of boomers instead of learn from 'em, society will always re-invent the wheel, repeat old mistakes, and laugh at stale jokes because they never heard 'em before...when boomers heard 'em a long time ago. Get rid of boomers and the joke's on society.
BTW, I'm a boomer. You'll have to catch me first, whippersnapper.

People, we have a winner.
if we didn't have boomers and their incessant quest for more we would still be in the 1940s realistically
the boomers had their time is all, and they're really refusing to let us have ours
we have these entry barriers into careers that are so impossibly high that people have now found ways to profit on the fact that no one is capable of getting a job. obviously the answer to the problem is not "boomers just need to die already" but they've set up this lifestyle for themselves that keeps us college grad age kids working at minimum wage jobs
you cant only blame that, though
a lot of it is people in our generation studying things that won't land them a job (hello)
isn't that hard to do some research on the job market before you decide what you want to do

You have what you have now because of boomers. But for boomers you'd still be subsistence farming yourself. Boomers gave you your computers and smartphones. Without boomers, the kids wouldn't have a platform to launch their future to begin with, and they'd be reinventing the wheel every generation thereafter.

Not all boomers are employers, sorry. Most of 'em are just as unemployed as younger folks are. Not only that, but those who have had long careers retire on retirement pensions that don't exist anymore, thanks to Bonnie Ronnie Reagan, before the time of the youngsters today...which means that boomers, for the most part, ARE paying their own way through retirement including the medical bills, and so aren't the big drag on the economy that youngsters have been snookered into believing that they are. Youngsters are so gullible, aren't they. n_u
There's some truth to that but honestly our generation is absolutely horrible, we value nothing. The average generation x is so self centered and lazy it's sad, drug use and promiscuity seems to be more culturally acceptable amongst us but honestly it's fucking sad.
but we're also the children of the boomers and a lot of them are getting divorced. shit trickles downhill idk

Yup. QFT x2. Boomers had pot in the beginning before it was made illegal in the first place, and if you don't like boomers, you shouldn't like pot either.
On the other hand, if you're smart, you'll value your brains and avoid all things that scramble them. Pot makes a person forgetful as well as causes bad judgment, and when you're already forgetful with an onset of Alzheimer's your eyes may be open but you're already dead. Brain dead.

The marijuana that the boomers smoked is VERY different from the pot that is now smoked today. I don't think that one needs to like the boomers in order to like pot? It wasn't a salesman that shared that information with me, it was a farmer. Are you saying that you think the cultivation of a plant doesn't ever change that plant? Marijuana today does have higher thc content today than it ever did in the past just because you want to ignore that doesn't make it any less true. The marijuana that is grown today w a hydroponic system is very different than that which grows either on its own in the wild or even in an outdoor farm.
So just because it was banned during the time of the boomers if we love/hate marijuana then somehow we must also love/hate the boomers? I still don't see how these two things correlate.

I mentioned a mj cultivar. That's the parent plant from which other varieties spring. I suspect that the farmer you were talking to grows Monsanto GMOs, which would make sense. Hydroponically grown anything will water down any potency, as it happens. Yup--been there, done that with tomatoes in particular. Forget farmers--you'd get better info from a gardener.

For the record, I'm a gardener who has grown a lot of things, hydroponically and not. Marijuana is called a weed because it grows like one--it needs a lot of real sun and real soil like every other weed. It's the usual table vegetables that require special growing conditions to make sure they're tender; when they're grown like weeds, they get tough and intense. Hydroponics isn't the answer to growing anything intense. If anything, it makes stuff less effective.

"In the 1970s and 80s, the active ingredient in marijuana, THC, was at 3.5 percent. Today, the THC found in most marijuana averages more than 7 percent. But specific techniques can skyrocket the amount of THC to as high as 27 percent.
The higher the THC gets, the more rapidly you deliver a large jolt of the active ingredient to the brain. Today's marijuana is much more powerful and much more addictive than it was a generation ago."

Interesting...but the quote you quoted is not attributed to a known expert. Your personal observation is of more consequence, although it's generally deemed to be "anecdotal". As a person who knows how to grow plants in general, and as a methodical cross-breeder, I do know that hydroponics has nothing to do with it. In the same manner that a wide variety of heirloom tomatoes were selectively bred into existence, it makes more sense that such marijuana plants are the result of similar methodical cross-breeding/generational selection...which is why I used the term "cultivar" as term for the wild parent plant(s).
It takes two different cultivars to produce an F1 hybrid, also F2 hybrids. The non-hybrid variety requires multi-generational deliberate selection with two parents of the identical variety, and that's probably what happened to develop the high-potency plants...but...it also means that they're not wild, either, although may crossbreed with what grows wild. Breeding carrots runs into the same problem: they'll cross-breed with Queen Anne's Lace and thus ruin the seed lot.
I don't think anyone's convincing anyone here

Breeding carrots runs into the same problem: they'll cross-breed with Queen Anne's Lace and thus ruin the seed lot.
troll

Besides, what does a resident Boyah geek know about plant husbandry anyway? confuseddood;
Not enough to know when somebody who knows what they're talking about actually does know what she's talking about.

Awfully haughty!
Truth tends to be haughty. Facts are unforgivingly haughty.

weed is murder (of your brain cells)
But it's so ineffective for the price. Alcohol is where it's at. Why would you get Brawny paper towels when you can get Bounty for the same price
i dont know enough about paper towels
I usually just get the Bog Lots brand of paper towels and toilet paper. They're cheaper.

You'd get an answer quicker from the woman who picks up after everybody in ur house. She'd be the expert on that.
I'm sure there's a certain equestrian tool that would be pulled out if YPR excepted the girlfriend to clean up the house

I clean more than the woman in my house
Otherwise you'd mean my mother in which case she wouldn't care enough to have knowledge of the absolute best paper towel so long as it works
