If there's many things I've learned about Boyah during my time here one of them is that a lot of boyagers take their video games and playing of them very seriously. And they don't like any criticism about it and will usually act aggressively towards criticism or the dislike of it.

don't let's

The legalization of pot will be our downfall

Yup. QFT x2.  Boomers had pot in the beginning before it was made illegal in the first place, and if you don't like boomers, you shouldn't like pot either.

On the other hand, if you're smart, you'll value your brains and avoid all things that scramble them.  Pot makes a person forgetful as well as causes bad judgment, and when you're already forgetful with an onset of Alzheimer's your eyes may be open but you're already dead.  Brain dead.

The marijuana that the boomers smoked is VERY different from the pot that is now smoked today. I don't think that one needs to like the boomers in order to like pot? I don't really understand the correlation. Marijuana use existed long before the boomers. Also is that a joke about pot scrambling your brain? I actually just can't tell if this entire post is a joke...

Friends n neighbors, it looks like we now have a case in point. ;)

The salesman who is telling you that any marijuana cultivar is different from any other marijuana cultivar is, basically, selling you a bill of goods...and it looks like you bought it.

So what if mj was around before the boomers?  The point is that it got banned when boomers were into it.  Good morning, sunshine.

It wasn't a salesman that shared that information with me, it was a farmer. Are you saying that you think the cultivation of a plant doesn't ever change that plant? Marijuana today does have higher thc content today than it ever did in the past just because you want to ignore that doesn't make it any less true. The marijuana that is grown today w a hydroponic system is very different than that which grows either on its own in the wild or even in an outdoor farm.

So just because it was banned during the time of the boomers if we love/hate marijuana then somehow we must also love/hate the boomers? I still don't see how these two things correlate.

I mentioned a mj cultivar.  That's the parent plant from which other varieties spring.  I suspect that the farmer you were talking to grows Monsanto GMOs, which would make sense.  Hydroponically grown anything will water down any potency, as it happens.  Yup--been there, done that with tomatoes in particular.  Forget farmers--you'd get better info from a gardener.
Hmph.

But why do you feel you have to be protective about drugs? Have you ever thought about that? Is it just because you don't like when somebody questions your choices, or is it something else?

The So-Called Greatest Generation banned pot back when the first boomers were wetting their diapers.

Nope. The boomers were college kids at the time.  As in, young adults.  I should know, I was one of 'em and I was there.
Hmph.

This farmer I spoke of has nothing to do with monsanto GMOs. It's pretty clear you don't know much about growing marijuana and that's fine. I also just don't like engaging w you so I'm gonna stop now.

it's not about drugs specifically
anything that i partake in that i really enjoy will cause me to be defensive if people are being ignorant about it

Yeah I wouldn't doubt that

For the record, I'm a gardener who has grown a lot of things, hydroponically and not. Marijuana is called a weed because it grows like one--it needs a lot of real sun and real soil like every other weed.  It's the usual table vegetables that require special growing conditions to make sure they're tender; when they're grown like weeds, they get tough and intense. Hydroponics isn't the answer to growing anything intense.  If anything, it makes stuff less effective.

"In the 1970s and 80s, the active ingredient in marijuana, THC, was at 3.5 percent. Today, the THC found in most marijuana averages more than 7 percent. But specific techniques can skyrocket the amount of THC to as high as 27 percent.
The higher the THC gets, the more rapidly you deliver a large jolt of the active ingredient to the brain. Today's marijuana is much more powerful and much more addictive than it was a generation ago."

that was even a statement made in 2005 and since I began smoking weed (9 years ago) I have seen the quality of marijuana I smoke greatly increase. Although I used to just be a kid who smoked weed and now I work in the industry so that also has something to do w it. My dad smoked weed almost his entire life and when he smoked the weed my brothers and I would get, versus the weed he got that his friend grew outdoors he would get much more high... because the THC content was higher.

weed is murder (of your brain cells)

But it's so ineffective for the price. Alcohol is where it's at. Why would you get Brawny paper towels when you can get Bounty for the same price
