The fact that the way that sound is detected is by a bunch of vibrating stringy things in your ear. Whenever I'm listening to music and I think of that I turn my music down :(

Do you have any idea how much poop you're walking around with right now? Right after you poop, take a look at all that poop, and just remember that seconds ago, that was inside your body.

if every cell in a multicellular organism is alive individually, and the organism as a whole itself is alive, then x number of cells in said multicellular organism house x+1 number of 'lives'
how is that possible AWESOME

imagining what it would be like if the skin and flesh of someone's face was torn off and they lived
we refer to all of our body parts as 'ours' ('my arm', 'my eye', 'my brain'), but it doesn't really make sense to say 'my brain' considering you
are your brain and the body is a biological life support system for it
so the phrase 'my brain' is kind of redundant and weirds me out AWESOME

How different cellular functions are really difficult to grasp, yet our bodies know how to do them. Like, our MIND has no clue how DNA replication works until we are taught, but our bodies know how to do it....
How literally everything that happens is a physical thing (counting electrons and individual atoms). Even things that seem to happen on a nonexistent plane, like brain chemicals, heat, sound, computer data.

If a person were born without any of the five senses (olfaction, gustation, tactition, audition, vision), and thus lacked the ability to even comprehend the concepts of the senses, would they even be aware of their own existence? confuseddood;

They would be aware their mind existed but would be totally unaware of a physical world. They would be living their lives inside of their own heads.

how do you know they would be aware of their mind though? they've never experienced anything at all, so there really wouldn't be much in the way of thinking befuddlement

how would they 'think'
i mean it's possible there's a way to, but i'm not sure what that is
i think in english, but i have no idea how or if a person both without language and without any experiences to think about would have the capability of thinking at all befuddlement
how do you need language to think? you can think of many things that wouldn't require a language O_0

I suppose, but regardless of whether or not said senseless person had a language to think in, what would they think about? confuseddood;
i mean i don't think they could have had any experiences to think about because they would be unable to sense them but idk
Oh well completely senseless is a different story. A person that couldn't speak could think about or imagine places, people, animals, etc. As for a senseless person, perhaps their thinking or imagining is dependent on their creativity, to create something inside their minds. Their minds still function, they just have no experiences to base their thoughts on. Idk if I am making any sense
then again, they've never been taught anything. mentally, they'd likely still be infantile. it would be interesting to see what kinds of things they would develop in their mind.

i think you are
although i can't help but wonder what such a person would imagine lol
Perhaps I should have specified that in this hypothetical situation, the person's
brain is perfectly functional and perfectly normal, but none of their senses have ever worked. befuddlement

let's just ask a senseless person n_n
People who breath with their mouth open. You know, that if you really wanted to, you could probably fit your entire hand in there and they would never even notice. It bugs me.
If they have never sensed anything then I don't see how they could think anything, because in order to think, doesn't it have to be in the shape of a certain sense? Like images, or sounds, etc.
Then again...maybe their thoughts would be super-human, and totally unfathomable to anyone else, because they are not clouded by sensory information O_0
