Title: Health class and other generally fucked up school teachings
Post by: Bushy on April 27, 2010, 12:48:57 PM
I'm being brainwashed.

North Carolina is a major tobacco state and stuff like that, dig? Well we're going over drugs and alcohol in Health class and I asked if we were going to talk about cigarettes and stuff. Teacher said "No, we will not discuss such things because they aren't drugs"

Maybe I missed something but (tobacco) cigarettes are most definitely drugs, right?

tobacco isnt a drug

A drug, broadly speaking, is any substance that, when absorbed into the body of a living organism, alters normal bodily function.

...

In low concentrations (an average cigarette yields about 1 mg of absorbed nicotine), [Nicotine] acts as a stimulant in mammals

I thought it was something that alters your state of mind (illegal drugs) and legal drugs were designed to return bodily functions back to normal.

Illegal in the sense that the drugs are outlawed or it is illegal for you to take them because they weren't prescribed for you or any condition you have/had.

i know someone who tried salvia. he said he felt like he was in a jungle and that he almost ran into traffic on multiple occasions.

so, mippo, there's your answer.

that's why you do it somewhere that's not public and away from danger. you're supposed to make the person sit down or stay still.

I don't think I've ever heard a strong recommendation for the use of salvia. Good trip? It's short. Bad trip? A living hell, albeit a short one

Dont do it.

I got talked into doing it once at a friend of a friend's house and it was a huge mistake. I dont think there is such a thing as a "good" trip when doing it.

It only lasted about ten or fifteen minutes, but from what I do remember, it drags on and on and it's kind of hellish.

Plus, if your sitter is a douchebag, prepare for the worst time of your life. After I came off it I was furious and left while the others stayed and watched the walls close in on them while everyone laughed. It's juvenile.
