While I have fun with GTAIV, I don't think that it was the best of games. I'm having much more fun with Saints Row 3 and I'm not even done the story yet. I'll wait for bug fixes, etc.

I'm pretty sure Rockstar knows all the complaints people have with IV, they've been working on this game for probably 5 years, their experience with this generation has improved, RDR showed big improvements in the game engine, etc so I don't know why anyone would think it will be too similar to IV

also it's going to be the best game ever I don't care what I have to do to get it at launch I am doing it

Quote from: comment I readRockstar said a year ago how this is based on the bad economy. The guy on the right represents the upper class, the guy in the middle represents the lower class, and the guy on the left represents the lower class. The game will begin without these three men knowing each other, and we will see how the economy will affect each one. The rich guy might start losing his money at some point, or maybe he will find an opportunity to get even more money by taking advantage of the economy. The guy in the middle class will get desperate because the economy will take a real toll on him and his family. It is possibly that the guy having to sell his in the trailer is the middle class guy. He will have to turn to crime to stay afloat. The guy on the left is already poor, and maybe he will get mixed up with the middle class and the upper class guys to find an opportunity to become rich.

The stories of the three men will intertwine and they will work together to get rich. Maybe at some point in the story there will be a conflict between the men, and the player will have a choose at the end of the story to pick who wins out.

so you'll probably have a favorite and maybe even one you hate

fine, I'll summarize
when not playing as a protagonist, they do their own thing, so you can be thrown into some random event. each character has a specific style, set of traits, area, and general outlook in the game. some missions will be only one character, others all three, and others a combination of two characters.
planes very early in the game
Michael is the old guy, and he has a 20-year old stoner son, airheaded daughter, and bitchy wife. he is an ex-robber but avoided jail through a deal with the FIB. He lives in the beverly-hills type area
Trevor has a past with Michael, and is wild, loves drugs, very violent, etc. He's a war vet, lives out in the desert in a trailer, and has access to aircraft since he's an ex-pilot.
Franklin is the black guy, lives in the canal area, and is trying to make it big in the world.
minigames include yoga, jet-skiing, triathlons, base-jumping, tennis and a full golf game.
cars are tighter, less slippery and boat-like.
picking up a random gas can, pouring gas on a car and then a trail down the road, then pulling out a lighter and lighting the whole thing on fire
no property, but lots of "other stuff" to buy.
people won't call you nearly as much
random encounters like in rdr
pedestrians actually doing things like talking in groups, interacting with the environment, doing activities, etc.
huge draw distance
fully-mapped underwater areas for scuba diving
one mission shows them rappelling down a skyscraper, and seeing people working through the windows inside
in a convenience store, all of the objects on the shelves are individually mapped.
some gta iv characters may return

QuoteHere is a list of things I've gathered of the recently released articles through other gatherings from members of GTAForums, big shoutout to those members (docrikowski, SMG):

Whole map will be open from the start, except some protected areas. (updated 5:11 AM 11/12/2012)
The dynamic world of Red Dead Redemption was the starting point to create a living world in GTA V "Our goal is to surpass RDR", said Dan Houser.
   Prisons and Canyons
Radio will be dynamic, in the sense that it will tell the weather and news as it comes
Underwater world (and underwater caves) and diving equipment
Houser said that missions similar to Taxi, Ambulance and Vigilante will be back, BUT "probably not identical to the ones in previous GTAs as they wouldn't fit in the 3 protagonists personalities, but the 3 protagonists will have odd jobs to do".
About the 3 protagonists skills: Trevor will be the skilled helicopter pilot, Franklin the skilled driver and sniper, Michael the "smooth firefoxtor", skilled and versatile.
The idea about creating Michael came from the question: "What would a typical GTA protagonist (that would typically aged around 25-35 years) ask after he's retired, and in his mid 40's?".... "Where's the action?"
Franklin is looking for a mentor, and finds one in Mike after they meet during one of Franklin's repoman jobs.
   Trevor is an ex-military pilot.
Trevor is made from the inspiration of the typical GTA player that only roams around the game creating havoc, death and destruction.
According to Houser, missions types will vary among "big and small events, explosive, infiltration, super spectacular, family, invasion, hostage recovery, heists and robberies. Plus classic GTA missions but updated and improved."
They played the same mission of GI, called "The Execution".
   Draw distance improved.
No notice of popping in the scenery.
Cover mechanics have been greatly improved and cover will be very important in the gameplay.
About the economy, Houser says: "you will be able to spend money to buy interesting and fun things… expensive toys. We are still working on the economy, but it will be a strong element in the game and players will be eager to make money to spend money. Something along the lines of â€" 'I went through all of this to make all this money and now I'm going to spend it on this crazy item.'"
Biggest selection of vehicles in any GTA game.
   Dynamic music in missions
   No COOP in SP.
MP will be a huge part of the game and it will be very addictive.
MP has been developed by a separated team and it will has been developed as something as important and full of content as SP.

   COOP confirmed in MP

   Less emphasis on killing

String of robberies as the focus, and not just banks

All three characters are motivated to rob for money, not 'for the fun of it'

There will be some times where the player will be forced to switch protags, but suggests that this is only for some missions where a specific skill set is required to complete the mission.

Protags that are living their normal lives when not on a mission can be found USING the Toilet

The zoom-out/zoom-in effect when changing Protags only happens when not on a mission. On mission it is different to this.

You can switch protags off-mission and eavesdrop the other protag without necessarily taking control. You can use the information you hear when eavesdropping to your advantage for when you do have control.

(5:28 AM 11/12/2012) Some more from GTAForums member, SMG:

Example mission is rescuing an informant from the IAA to be taken to the FIB
This mission does not give forced-switch. Trevor will autopilot while Michael enjoys the view from the chopper if you switch. You have the option to climb the boring ladder for Franklin to get a good vantage point for the Sniper
   New Heli controls
Controls for rappeling may be an ongoing ability, not just a cut-scene for this mission
A female officer is heard threatening to sodomize a prisoner during an interrogation
A circular menu with the faces of the three characters is displayed
Franklin is ready to go with sniper, possibly pre-aimed and just have to fire the trigger. Michael (under AI) dies if Franklin does not take out two guards with the sniper
Transition is quick - takes us back to the same moment in which we press the Switch button, but under the eyes and the situation in which the character is we have chosen to control

You can go Rambo and complete entire missions are one protag even though there are others in on the same mission

Euphoria engine/RAGE refined after GTA IV, RDR, MP3, Rockstar feeling more confident in bringing out it's full potential, the best iteration of the engine

   Lip-sync to animations

Plenty of expensive things to spend your fortunes on once you succeed in making lots of money from missions. Not RPG style.

Cameo of someone from IV who is not a murderer

In-game music when not in a car

EDIT: (3:58 AM PST 11/12/2012) Here's a new one from the Guardian article:

"there is even a functioning ecosystem teeming with wildlife."

EDIT: (5:11 AM PST 11/12/2012) Some new stuff from the Multiplayer.it preview, provided by docrikowski and lefantome from GTAForums:

Alamo Sea is the name of the Salton Sea like area.
Radial menu to select the 3 protagonists.
The story's only goal is not a great finale reached by a linear storyline. Most of the missions are to prepare you to pass through some crucial twists in the storyline. There are 6 of this crucial moments that are played in 6 high quality missions. There will be multiple great finales that will depend on what you did previously in the game.
25 hour storyline, along the lines of RDR.
they say map is 3x RDR one on land and 5x RDR one if you include sea areas.

TRAILER #2 IN 1.5 HOURS

also I don't know if I mentioned this already but Rockstar's said that the map is over three times the size of RDR's in term of land, but about five times the size if you include the underwater areas, which are supposed to be highly detailed and include underwater caves and whatnot. Probably sea creatures as well.

I've heard that a lot on different websites, but I don't really get it
These screenshots are at 720p, which is pretty standard now and I think next-gen games will mainly be 1080p. Aside from that, the graphics look like a perfectly reasonable upgrade from IV. I can see plenty of similarities, but also places they've improved seeing as they've been working with this engine and for a long time now. If it were on next-gen systems, it would look a lot better than this. There are quite a few noticeable flaws, although overall the game looks really beautiful
Plus Rockstar has confirmed these screenshots are running on current gen hardware so there's that

i agree with that, but it just looks so much more advanced than gtaiv and rdr did lol

it might have to do with the fact that its colors are much more vibrant, but it looks quite a bit better than anything rockstar has released this gen thus far imo

the other are pretty similar too, but not that much:

III has the helicopter in the top-left:
Vice City also has the helicopter, girl on the middle-left, close-up on top, motorcycle on top-right, and black guy with pistol on bottom-right:
San Andreas has the helicopter, close-up, bike in a nearby place instead of a motorcycle, girl, the guy with the pistol, and car:
Everyone already knew about the helicopter, but I don't think the rest has been noticed as much.

The classic wanted system will be making a return - with five stars instead of the usual six.

They make the police encounters sound better, too. In this new game, we can still try to escape the circular zone that flashes on the mini-map when cops come after our malcontent protagonist(s). But, this time, we'll be able to try to hide inside that alarm radius, if we'd like. The cops will use a line-of-sight system, so they won't just magically know where you are. If they have a helicopter in the sky, they'll be able to see plenty. And you'll see them use hand signals to communicate what they're doing.

Each character is rated in a series of skill categories: Stamina, Shooting, Strength, Stealth, Flying, Driving, Mechanic, Lung Capacity.
Each character has a 'Special': Franklin is an adrenalin junkie and can slow down time while driving; Trevor has a frenzy mode, where he does double damage, takes half damage, and has a unique melee attack; Michael has his own version of bullet time
Specials are governed by a meter, it drains after use and recharges slowly
Other skill categories are shared and can be improved by completing missions, side missions, activities and more
Trevor will always be the best pilot, Franklin will always be the best driver but each can improve their proficiency a little
One of the skill categories is stealth, suggesting players will be able to take different approaches to missions

Quote from: http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/50871/asked-answered-gtav.htmlIn order to provide the best possible experience for such a massive and detailed world, the game will have installation requirements on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation®3 systems. For Xbox 360, Grand Theft Auto V will ship on two discs; Disc 1 will be used for a one-time mandatory install and Disc 2 will be used to play the game. After the install, players will be able to enjoy both Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online without any need to switch discs.
This initial install will require an Xbox 360 Hard Drive or an external 16GB USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of free space. If using a USB flash drive it must be at least USB 2.0 with a minimum 15mb/s read speed and formatted for Xbox 360 use. A new USB flash drive is recommended to ensure optimum performance.  For PlayStation®3, the game ships on one disc and will install content as soon as you insert the game. The install is roughly 8GB, and players will be able to play as soon as the install is complete.

Two new articles:
http://www.gameinformer.com/games/grand_theft_auto_v/b/xbox360/archive/2013/07/09/grand-theft-auto-v-gun-combat.aspx
http://www.gameinformer.com/games/grand_theft_auto_v/b/xbox360/archive/2013/07/09/grand-theft-auto-v-customization.aspx

Customization:
Quoteyou can indeed customize your weapons. The player has access to a wide range of modifications, such as extended clips that allow you to fire more ammo between reloads, grips to improve your accuracy, weapon tints to color your guns, flashlights, scopes, and suppressors.

QuotePay & Spray isn't in this game - it's been replaced by LS Customs.

QuoteIn addition to the many cosmetic customization alterations such as body kits, paint jobs/finishes, wheels, exhaust tips, window tints, tire smoke color, bull-bars, extra lights, and lots of other extra accessories, we have modifications that will affect gameplay and vehicle performance. Some of the modifications that affect gameplay include brakes, engine tuning, suspension, horns, bulletproof tires, panel armor, and of course, a general repair! There are more than 1,000 modifications in total. And when you're done customizing your car, you can take a picture of it using the in-game cell phone and upload them to the Social Club.

Combat:
QuoteThe controls have been expanded, so now in addition to traditional left trigger "down the sights" aiming, you can also both run and shoot comfortably while only using the right trigger. This retains the benefits of seeing your character from the third-person view while keeping the feel much closer to the range of motion and shooting precision you have in a first-person shooter.

QuoteIf you fire your weapon, or become engaged in a fight, your character's bearing changes and your default speed switches from a casual walk to a combat jog, giving you improved mobility as well as a greater sense of urgency. If there's no threat or you haven't been firing, you'll revert back to a relaxed state. The transitions between these states are all handled seamlessly without breaking stride

Quotewe've tried to bring in all the appropriate parts from the different projects, from the more advanced cover components and targeting of Red Dead Redemption to the more fluid transitions in and out of gun combat from Max Payne 3.

QuoteHard lock has gone altogether

QuoteFor GTA V, we've split targeting out into three distinct modes: assisted aiming, traditional GTA, and free aim.

Assisted aiming gives players a larger targeting area as well as a little more help analyzing targets to try and pick the largest threat.

Traditional GTA is the closest to previous GTA's soft lock option. It shares all the characteristics of assisted aiming, with the additional ability to flick left and right between targets using the right stick.

Another new refinement is that every aim mode now has a timer that breaks lock so you have to be more tactical in your approach - you can no longer just rely on holding and shooting until a target is dead.

QuoteWe've also pushed the cover system to further bridge the gap between driving and gunplay. In addition to smoothly running out of a car whilst firing a gun, players are able to use their car as cover, getting out and staying low without exposing themselves. They can make a stand there behind the car for a while and then at any time quickly re-enter the car from cover or from shooting and speed away with little exposure to enemy fire.

QuoteGrand Theft Auto Online is a dynamic and persistent online world for 16 players that begins by sharing gameplay features, geography and mechanics with Grand Theft Auto V, but will continue to expand and evolve after its launch with new content created by Rockstar Games and the Grand Theft Auto community. Grand Theft Auto Online takes the fundamental Grand Theft Auto concepts of freedom, ambient activity and mission-based gameplay and makes them available to multiple players in an incredibly detailed and responsive online world.

In Grand Theft Auto Online, players have the freedom to explore alone or with friends, work cooperatively to complete missions, band together to participate in activities and ambient events, or compete in traditional game modes with the entire community, all with the personality and refined mechanics of Grand Theft Auto V.

Players can invest in their character through customizing their appearance, improving their stats, owning customized vehicles, purchasing personal property, and taking part in missions, jobs and activities to earn reputation and cash to open up new opportunities to rise through the criminal ranks. The world of Grand Theft Auto Online will constantly grow and change as new content is added, creating the first ever persistent and dynamic Grand Theft Auto game world.

Access to Grand Theft Auto Online is free with every retail copy of Grand Theft Auto V and launches on October 1st.

lol n so it'll be excellent for all of us at least wrench;

QuoteSwitching over to GTA Online, you're immediately dropped into a world shared by 16 players. No need to match up with other people using some free-roaming lobby--merely jumping into GTA Online is enough to tell the game you're ready to free-roam alongside other players.
Who you get matched up with is where things get fun. Rockstar has designed a free-roam matchmaking system that takes various factors into account, such as prioritizing friends and crewmembers, and ensuring that nearby strangers of the appropriate skill level are used to fill space when the situation calls for it. It's not quite like Destiny or The Division in the sense that new players are swapped in for old ones as you move about the map, but the game does ensure that players can all easily fast travel toward each other when a mission is set to begin, and that players who finish a mission together resume a free-roaming session as part of the same group.
that's so so much better than IV's multiplayer thumbup;

QuoteMaybe you and some buddies want to throw on a couple masks and hold up a convenience store for a quick bit of cash. Easy money, right? Well, the player who physically receives the money from the cashier gets to decide how it's split between the team. If your buddy stiffs you on your share of the profit, you can either chase him down and steal it for yourself or keep your hands clean by hiring a hitman to take him out--it's your call. QuoteMany of these missions are simply ambient events you can trigger on the fly. Let's say you run into one player and decide to challenge them to a race. You pull open the map, drop a waypoint--user-created events and game modes are a big theme in GTA Online--and the two of you are on your way. But be careful, because you might just pass by a third player with a six-star wanted level fleeing from a swarm of cops. Nothing ruins a street race like colliding head-on into a police cruiser.

QuoteLike GTAV's story campaign, GTA Online features a mission progression where a series of larger and more elaborate heists offer you the chance to pad your bank account and cement your status as a master criminal.

These are missions unique to multiplayer and as such they've been designed for a cooperative style of play. One of the missions Rockstar showed was a large-scale operation requiring a crew of players to sneak into an airport, take out a crew of armed guards, and fly away in a military cargo plane. If that weren't challenging enough, the players also had to fly it clear across the map and successfully land the thing in a ramshackle airstrip out in the middle of nowhere.
excellent
It seems like this is basically what they want everyone to play when they're not  doing missions in V

QuoteRockstar wants to ensure that the challenge in these heists comes from actually stealing stuff rather than trying to organize a group of friends through some clumsy party lobby system. All you need to do is wander up to a mission marker, invite some willing friends along by pulling open a quick menu, and they'll be instantly teleported over and ready to get going--even if they were just in the single-player story. These pre-mission screens also let you tweak variables such as difficulty level and time of day.

QuoteNow that player-owned vehicles occupy a permanent place in the world--they no longer disappear into the ether when you leave them somewhere--you can insure your fleet of cars to make sure all the money you've spent on upgrading them doesn't go to waste should you happen to encounter any wayward rockets. Things are sure to get even more interesting sometime after launch when the stock market is implemented: Instead of protecting cars, you'll be able to engage in a bit of lighthearted market manipulation by investing your money in a car manufacturer and running around town destroying every one of those models you come across. Suddenly that company is going to be pumping out a whole lot of new cars. Nice time to be a stockholder, eh?

QuoteSay you're hanging out in your high-rise apartment enjoying the view down below. You spot a flurry of red and blue lights in the distance and decide to see what's going on. So you switch on your TV, tune into the news, and suddenly you're watching your friend fleeing from the police in real-time thanks to the news helicopter flying directly above him. Beyond little touches like this, you can use your apartment for more practical uses, as well--like getting your friends together to go over the details of a heist in your planning room or keeping a watchful eye on your 10-car garage using a closed-circuit security camera feed. Hell, you can even take a shower to wash off the blood after a particularly brutal mission.

QuoteWith each mission, you'll be racking up a form of experience called RP, or reputation points. The greater your reputation, the more characters you'll meet. The more characters you meet, the more favors you can call on. If you're fleeing from another player, you can call up a buddy to hide your radar blip. If you're looking for work, you can have them send you a list of cars to steal. And if you're truly desperate, you can call up a private security company to quite literally bring in an airstrike.

What's crazy about all this is that you can call in these favors whether you're messing around in free-roam, or competing in an organized deathmatch or race or any of the other match types.

QuoteYou can also insure cars now, so that - if someone steals it, or blows it up - you can get that same car back for a premium. You can also leave your cars somewhere in the world, and come back to that place and they're still there...

We don't let anyone steal your personal vehicle. If we were in a personal vehicle, and I jumped out as the owner, you could take it. But if it's locked, it's locked. You could blow it up, if you're that way (inclined), but anything that's going to annoy other players, we will punish by giving you what we call a Bad Sport stat. We store how you behave in there. If you're too bad, you will be punished.

Can other players see when someone has a Bad Sport stat?

Yeah. They'll be able to check it out, and think "I'm not playing with that guy."

So going back to the vehicles - are you almost more encouraged to buy them than to steal them?

You can buy cars, just like you can (in the real world). Or you can steal them if the mod shops are prepared to dabble with them. If they are, you can spray them and change the plates. If they're not prepared to do that, when the cops spot you in a stolen car, you'll get a Wanted level.

Is that why you'd want to employ the $50-a-day man to mod your stolen cars?

He won't deal with stolen cars. All he does is repair busted-up vehicles, and deliver your car. So, if you're out in the countryside without transport, you can give him a phone and he'll come out and drop the car off for you.

Not so, a Rockstar spokseperson told Kotaku. There is no online pass or code required for activating GTAO. Quote- The camera will zoom out and pan away to your online character seamlessly. During the animation, a matchmaking process will be in progress.
- Matchmaking will depend on which friends are playing, and what people have ranks near yours.
- You can do almost anything you can do in single player in GTA Online.
- Each mission requires a rank depending on difficulty and complexity. The bigger your rank, the more difficult the missions will be.
- There are around 700 missions in GTA Online.
- Missions will be ordered randomly as you play Online.
- For certain heists you might need certain weapons, vehicles or characters such as a sniper or a driver. This will also depend on the mission creator if you download the mission from the Social Club.
- Some missions are so complex they need plenty of good communication.
- There will be descriptions to help each character on its heist function.
- You can change weather, time of day, time you want it to rain or to be a certain weather state, radio station to be tuned at the start of the race or mission in the Content Creator.
- There is something called "team lives". If you have 4 team lives and 4 people, if everyone dies there will be 0 lives left, or if you die 4 times, the team will have 0 lives left, which means if anyone dies, it's mission failed.
- You can watch races and deathmatches on your apartment TV.
- There are masks to hide from the cops.
- The Online will be run on the Social Club servers, data will be stored on the cloud. There are datacenters from NY to San Diego, and more Rockstar studios.

QuoteGeneral:
Flying under bridges achievements will return from GTAIV. There are exactly 50 bridges to fly under.
Night time is more realistic and is a big improvement from IVs "darkness". At a certain part of Blaine County the only real source of light were Trevor's vehicle headlamps.
Neon signs actually have a buzzing noise.
Helicopter wreckage can be found from high above in the sky.
Grove Street will be making a return.
    Normal walking is quite slow.

Characters:
Your character's health regenerates to 50 percent only.
One of a kind encounters may occur such as Lamar acting aggressively towards a hobo.
Chop can distract enemies, giving an advantage against them.
Each protagonist has a very distinctive walk and feel to them.
Main characters and NPC have thousands of custom animations.

Weapons:
The wheel will store all of the weapons you collect and you will never lose them, even if they run out of ammo or you get busted.
You can throw weapons to the other protagonists.
Sniper Rifles can be upgraded with a thermo scope which can be activated on the run.
The ability to fire whilst prone and rolling around returns from Max Payne 3.
You can upgrade the power, rate of fire and gauge levels of the weapons.

Vehicles:
    Trains are drivable.
If a saved vehicle is abandoned or destroyed, it can be recovered (for a fee) at the local impound lot.
Each vehicle type has a unique type of handling, for example the pick-up truck doesn't stick to the road as well as a supercar.
Pedestrians react differently to carjackings now, such as speeding off when aimed or shot at with a weapon.
Drivers flip you off after collisions.
Car crashes usually leave trails of fuel, which can in turn be used to blow them up.

Missions:
There are various ways to tackle a one mission objective.
When missions end, the aftermath "spills over" into free roam - as noted when a car is blown up at the end of a mission, fire engines will rush to the still destroyed car, whereas in IV the world would simply "reset".
If you go up to a mission marker, you go straight into a cut scene and straight out smoothly (with no black screen for loading), similar to Max Payne 3.
    There are mission checkpoints.

Police Encounters:
Unlike GTAIV's wanted system, every officer and police car has its own search circle.
Police will chase after you if you decide to go into water.

You can even get high, which will have screen-altering effects. Your pals are also able to look through your telescope – it won’t look into space, but will instead magnify what’s in the distance of the game world (trust me, I asked!) – or watch the in-game TV. For instance, a hilarious new episode of Republican Space Rangers. And if other folks in your crew are out causing trouble, you can turn on Weasel News on your apartment TV and actually follow their shenanigans live, as covered by the San Andreas news channel. Or watch them hover creepily near your apartment on your home’s closed-circuit security television monitors. Of course, if come home from a hard day of murdering and just want to relax with a shower to wash the dried blood off your body, you can do that too.

QuoteYes, there are movies to watch in Grand Theft Auto V, and in Online you can watch them with your friends. Maybe you’ll just laugh together, or perhaps you’ll go the Rifftrax route and crack jokes at what’s happening on the screen. Sadly, I wasn’t able to visit a theater during my hands-on time, nor would Rockstar provide any additional details, besides confirming that 16 of you can pack the theater.

saying there's no such thing as a 10/10 is  silly, what's the point of a 10 if no game will ever achieve it?
I think 10/10 games can have faults, just very minor ones that don't detract from the game
basically 10/10 should be given to maybe 1-3 games a year imo
but we're talking about famitsu, who (used to) have a reputation for being incredibly tough, so for them a 40/40 should be like top 10 games ever made

Because it's all subjective. I think that P4G is 10/10, but someone else might not think so. You love GTA4, but a lot of people here don't. It all comes down to opinions. Yeah, I remember Famitsu giving something a 40/40 and it being a big deal.

My class got cancelled tomorrow afternoon, so I might cave and go pick it up. I was originally going to wait a few months, but it looks pretty cool.

QuoteThere's also an e-version of the game's manual, because Rockstar apparently couldn't squeeze the full 100 page-plus tome into print for the retail box.

i'm sure it still  has decent manual, but it'll probably be more like 15 pages or so
I think it's pretty neat, since you can also customize your car and play with Chop in the app.

Speaking of the phones The Verge's review said Trevor's phone resembles Windows Phone, and you can take selfies now.

My copy is supposed to arrive tomorrow by 10:30am, so I'll just get up, eat/shower, and my game will be there giggle;

like for sid, it currently says 'grand theft auot v franklin and lamar', which i assume the second portion is the name of the mission he's playing

i've noticed when socks is playing cod it also will show what mode online he's playing etc.  it's a lot handier than just having the name of the game displayed.

That's one thing I like on Xbox Live more than PSN. Most games tell me exactly what the person is doing and stuff, and that's really useful.

You were certainly an influence in my decision.

Not sure how much I'll play IV, but I can't justify a $60 game unless I truly love it so adding IV for free made it worth it to me.

don't take it personally :( :(

i was leaning towards redead redemption from the start because i've played the main game and it's fantastic lol

whereas max payne is a franchise i have no experience with

plus i feel like the reaction to mp3 was relatively tame compared to rdrun which people seemed to be much more enthusiastic about

the difficulty is that despite that, they seem to have garnered exactly the same metacritic scores
If you can wait until the weekend to order the game and get the freebie, I can play MP3 and let you know. I have it sitting in my room, I installed it on my xbox but never played it.

Get the western undead.
It adds a lot of cool new game mechanics to the original red dad and kind of forces you to play differently.
The missions are funny and campy, the atmosphere rocks and you can ride the four horses of the apocalypse.
This is no brainer.

Anyone understand the stock market at all?
I bought like 100k in car insurance shares and just started shooting up as many cars as I could and it seems to climb pretty consistently.

Not sure what else to buy though.
For some dumb reason I bought a bunch of shares of that jewlery store before I robbed it
idk i did the same thing then this guy just emailed me a shitton of shares in his animal food store so i have some cash for franklin now
I did a mission for that hacker guy where you had to kill these jurors for a case against a cigarette company or something. So I put every last dollar into the competing cigarette brand and, after the job, it rose like eighty points. I ended up making around 200k
i finally decided to watch polygon's video review today.  i think i'll read it too.

when he started talking about the lack of womyn characters in the game, he started to sound bland almost like he was being forced to say this about a game he genuinely liked.  i'd say his rather weak arguments last week on tw@er trying to defend why, even though '''he''' found the misogyny 'troublesome', he'd still purchase the game.  the same thing also happened when he talked about the issues with the missions with the azerbaijanis, yet at the beginning of the video he could hardly contain his excitement about the prospect of being able to [glow=black,2,300]water board[/glow] someone.  go figure.

also, during his moral high ground bullshit, he just nonchalantly called them 'middle easterns'.  good job east coast liberal élitism.

http://www.polygon.com/2013/9/25/4770204/report-grand-theft-auto-online-microtransactions-detailed

the claim about users earning money faster in gtao than the single player seems odd to me.  either things in the multiplayer are going to be vastly expensive to compensate for this or you'll be able to buy a crap load of stuff fairly easily.
throughout most of the game, my characters generally hovered around $400-700k.  which was way more than enough to do just about anything i wanted.  the only thing i couldn't do easily was buy properties.  post-game, each character now has roughly [glow=black,2,300]$30 million[/glow] to his name.  it would be even more if i picked one of the shitty endings befuddlement

i'm a little frustrated with how necessary it is to meticulously follow a guide in order to really rake in the big bux

i screwed up the assassination missions early on because i assumed they were part of the story and did them consecutively before realizing i could have saved them for much later (i was able to save just one until the end of the game)

or maybe i'm just retarded and everyone knew that

also, i feel the main story is a little short

and boy is it anticlimactic

the game deliberately builds this massive amount of tension between the main characters that one would reasonably expect to explode fantastically at the climax

yet the end comes and goes, and all that tension just deflates like a sad balloon

they simply kiss and make up and part ways befuddlement

there is no final grand heist, no epic chase, just a standard set of basic assassination missions like we've done a hundred times before

even gta iv had a more satisfying ending akudood;

perhaps the game's climax was supposed to be """the big one""", but if so, it occurs way too early in the story for it to actually feel like a climax at all, too much occurs in the aftermath of that heist

of course, i did pick the most neutral ending, and i haven't viewed the others which might or might be more spectacular (though i doubt it)
speaking about the climax thing, i think we're too used to games climaxing far too late compared to other forms of media.  i think the big one was a good climax, and this was a decent attempt at having post-climax story lol

also, it's absolutely retarded that it takes literally about two in-game years to make a return on any property investment goonish
there's a lot of free single player stuff in those updates as well, also buying the limited/collector's editions don't get you any more money, just free cars

buying in-game money is totally optional though, not doing so takes nothing away from the game, and someone in the gtav subreddit made a good point that the extra money they make from the idiots who do buy them is probably helping fund all these free updates, it's certainly better than map packs and hats like tlou does

yes i mentioned the free stuff in the single player literally in the post you just quoted lol

buying that edition basically ensured you'd never have a reason to want money to buy a car was my point, because you've already got so many really good cars lol

it helps, at least. i just started from complete scratch.

it may be optional, but it must be pretty disheartening to just start gtao and be confronted with people who not only have the level requirements for the really shitty items [tanks] but also the will to waste irl money on them so they don't have to mess around with missions.   plus you still lose money even after you bank it when you're killed so

it only gives you 3 cars, two of which i don't really care for, and none of which are supercars or anything like that. it does help though yeah

QuoteIt’s also an extremely flexible and adaptable first-person experience. Off the bat, it retains the standard GTA 5 control scheme, but you can select from a variety of preconfigured control schemes so it feels more like a standard shooter. In fact, you can customise the experience a lot – you can vary the degree of aim assist, turn off ragdolling and the combat roll (after all, it might make some a bit queasy), and decide whether the game switches to third-person when taking cover. It’s versatile, too: it can be a full-on first-person experience, the same third-person experience you know, or a hybrid of the two.

Quote(Oh yeah, you can even duck down behind the steering wheel if you're being shot at.)

Hop on a bike or jump into a helicopter, and your character puts on a helmet or a set of goggles that authentically restricts your view and muffles the ambient noise of the world.

QuoteThere are other nice, format-specific tweaks, too: phone calls and police radio crackle out of the DualShock 4's speaker; swipes of the touch panel change weapon (up/down) and radio station (left/right); the light bar flashes red and blue when you have Wanted stars.

QuoteFortunately, all of this added fun in the upgraded version of Grand Theft Auto Online for Xbox One and PS4 also brings with it the chance to add way more detail to your avatar, even if you’re importing one from the Xbox 360 or PS3 (of note: stats can also be tweaked when importing, effectively allowing for a re-spec). The character creator in GTAO now rivals that of peak Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf, allowing you to customize no less than your eyes, nose, nose profile, nose tip, cheeks, cheek shape, lips, and more. Each has its own spectrum in which to tweak each individual setting.

it's now surpassed super mario bros. to become the fourth best-selling game of all time, behind minecraft, wii sports and tetris

and all but minecraft were pack-ins for a significant portion of their time on the market, and tetris has the advantage of being playable on every electronic device under the sun

two or three million more and it'll double san andreas' total

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-5s-online-mode-is-still-making-lots-of-money-r/1100-6434526/

this is why gta v will never have any single player dlc

why would rockstar waste a second of its time or a dime of its money developing new content when braindead gamers are perfectly content spending millions on microtransactions year after year in the glorified cell phone game that is grindfest auto online

mark my words: the next gta will ditch singleplayer entirely, and instead be a free-to-play, pay-to-have-fun mmo
