i will continue to wait patiently until 2018-2019

there is only one switch game coming in 2017 that seems critical, and that's mario
probably a good call. By then you might be able to get a bundle or something anyway that saves money.

well if i see a good enough deal, then of course i'll consider buying earlier lol

just whenever there's an appropriate balance of cost of entry and quality games

and i don't expect that to be the case until 2018-2019 (most likely late 2018)

I don't even like metroid but I'm happy Nintendo is trying to get back to making less gimmicky games it seems? Also glad 2 side strollers seem to be back (thanks indie games) in the minds of major series like sonic and metroid. Hopefully castelvania returns to symphony of the night glory?
For Nintendo, side scrollers have always been around.

Every Kirby game, Yoshi game, and Donkey Kong Country game. Mario had the NSMB series and Mario Maker.

For Sonic, the handheld series has been getting 2D pure-sidescrolling games up until the DS with Rush/Rush2/Colors, and there was also Sonic 4 in 2010-2012. The main games have had mixed side-scrolling parts for quite a while now.

speaking of juxtaposing art styles good god did xenoblade 2 look janky lol
did it? i liked the tiddies

same
i just meant half the characters are chibi anime lolis in shorts, the other half are spiky edge lords, and then they all live in a realistic-ish dino space land. i dont think its mario odyssey esque juxtapose levels for sure, i just mean it looks weird to me. like take the three listed above (PIC ANALYSIS AHOY)
exist in the same world as this guy

who all exist in this semi-realistic world:

it seems like they are mixing the styles of Xenoblade Chronicles and X. Xenoblade Chronicles Wii was at least unabashedly anime-esque in both character and world design:

and X went a bit more realistic with the characters as the world became more realistic:
TooB

Yeah but remember Xenoblade x's faces?

i see what you mean

yes, it's not quite odyssey-level bad, but the mix of art styles does clash just a tad

your faces are wutever u want them 2 be ;)

also the boxart alone explains what i was getting at in a concise nutshell lol. if you disagree, thats fine u r welcome 2 your own aesthetics, i just think it clashes a bit but i will still probably buy this shit day one

C.Mongler

idk, looks like Xenoblade 1 to me

bluaki

The list of not-yet-released games I currently plan to buy in 2017 is: Mario Odyssey, Danganronpa V3, Pokémon Ultra Moon, Sonic Forces, Kirby 3D Rumble, Splatoon 2, Life is Strange, Pikmin 3DS, and probably Pokkén.

so that's 3 on Switch, 3 on 3DS, 3 on PS4

from today's announcements, I'm definitely getting the new Kirby and Yoshi games when they launch next year

Nintendo keeps announcing new amiibo in the post-conference treehouse stream

so far there's 13:
Zelda BotW: Mipha, Daruk, Revali, Urbosa
Mario Odyssey: white suit Mario, white suit Bowser, wedding dress Peach, Goomba, Koopa Troopa
Metroid: Samus, Metroid
Fire Emblem: Chrom, Tiki

I'll probably get at least Mipha and Tiki

don't let's

by that logic spiderman is sony's sonic adventure

spiderman actually looks human

mario doesn't

the juxtaposition of mario with actual proportionate normal-looking human characters is vomitrocious

well that was the most predictable conference of all time

metroid was the only surprise, and even that was just a single tentative title screen and nothing else, and it's not coming until 2019 at the absolute earliest

not to mention it'll probably be the game that kills samus once and for all
allI want is a Metroid game set after fusion
