i just meant half the characters are chibi anime lolis in shorts, the other half are spiky edge lords, and then they all live in a realistic-ish dino space land. i dont think its mario odyssey esque juxtapose levels for sure, i just mean it looks weird to me. like take the three listed above (PIC ANALYSIS AHOY)

it seems like they are mixing the styles of Xenoblade Chronicles and X. Xenoblade Chronicles Wii was at least unabashedly anime-esque in both character and world design:

but the japanese xenoblade twitter posted a comparison shot of xenoblade 2 and it looks like the characters aren't quite so fuckin kawaii now so neat
