you can be sub-4 for like a year or two, but everyone feels bummy in general

i guess it depends how you are quantifying it. in terms of my professional life or career i'd probably say 6. in terms of my personal life and personal development probably like a 3? there are a lot of aspects that i would like to change or improve on but overall i am pretty happy with my relationships hobbies and accomplishments thus far.

Hiro

I'd say it's more like 20% of people in developed nations are a 3 or lower, 65% are 4-6, 14% are 7-9, and only 1% are a 10
or something along those lines

i'd say below 4 means you're a busy/successful person

and there are millions of such people

probably a minimum of 2/5 people are below 4
no way

everyone hates their life and feels like they are throwing it/have thrown it away.

sure but many of the successful ones probably suffer from this:

Quote from: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunning%E2%80%93Kruger_effectthe corollary to the Dunning–Kruger effect indicates that persons of high-ability tend to underestimate their relative competence, and erroneously presume that tasks that are easy for them to perform also are easy for other people to perform.[1]

but they're still at 4 or below

i kinda of attribute that quote to rdx in general at the moment, not to discredit how he's feeling about himself

if anything, 20 percent are a 10 and 1 percent are below a 3.

my success is attributed to silicon valley and the absolute glut of money in tech. its a wild west of free money out here basically if you have the discipline + luck to develop a skill that can make a tech company money.

im interviewing for high paying jobs, but not getting them. clearly im doing something horribly wrong.

but thanks for the compliment.

but you literally can't objectively assess yourself either lol

rdl

you can judge yourself better than anyone else can. you know the full story.

in public irl i keep up a really clean, successful image of myself because i have low self esteem or w/e and need the validation. but at the end of the day i know im a fuckup and the people who were present to observe my fuckup know im a fuckup. this is facts. its true for everybody, they know to what extent theyre a fuckup more than anyone else bc theyve been present for all of the fucking up.

I don't think we're talking about the same thing here, I didn't say they're in love with life, but those people don't feel that they're wasting their lives away
this isn't a scale of how happy or successful you feel, it's a scale of how aimless and unfulfilled you feel

rdl

but isnt the opposite of aimlessness being fulfilled?

unless it's just, "i feel aimless" to "i dont feel aimless" scale
