in all seriousness mental doctys seem to do this shit on the reg tho, u might be fine. when i was seeing a therapist i like barely mentioned my inability to focus (which i thought stemmed from being depressed and therefore disinterested more than anything) and he asked me like 5 times if i wanted to get tested for ADHD explaining the symptoms and what medication could do for me and yadda yadda

i was like naw i think i just need to feel better about myself

as a real adult he mighta been right tho lol

The tests are covered by my insurance. Honestly my therapist didn't even bring it up; I mentioned to her that I've suspected for a long time that this might be the case and she referred me somewhere.

I still haven't set up the appointment because I hate calling people on the phone girl;

what got you to believe you have asperger's if not too much
just behavioral characteristics i've noticed about myself

I avoid minor changes in my life, and actively resist them. I've gotten so many new clothes for Christmas over the years that I've never once because wardrobe changes kind of fall under that. I wear a variation of the same thing every day.

I have a lot of trouble making conversation with people I don't know very well or at all. It's not that I'm too anxious to talk, it's that literally nothing enters my brain to talk about. I can't even fake it. So often people assume I'm anti-social and douchey on first impression because of that.

When not paying attention, I avoid looking people in the eye when talking to them. I've noticed that I'm able to focus much better when I look away from a person while talking to them.

Those are the major reasons that I know are often tied to Asperger's, and it's enough to make me wonder.

this only very superficially sounds like autism

a lot of these apply to me

lol

but it really does only superficially sound like autism

i agree with mib's assessment:

but i realize it's my overwhelming anxiety that makes me avoid new changes, and contact with people when i actually would like to change things up.  though i have been wearing dark clothes since like 2012 and barely anything new, but i prob just am picky as hell

you seriously don't strike me as autistic at all, and a lot of what you describe applies to almost every boyager

i guess it's possible we're all autists

but in truth, it sounds much more like social anxiety, whose symptoms can sometimes mirror those of mild-moderate autism on the surface

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_anxiety_disorder#Signs_and_symptoms

compare:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autism#Characteristics

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asperger_syndrome#Characteristics

do you have any of that "repetitive" behavior under the list of autism/assburgers characteristics (repetitive enough to be detrimental to daily life)

in any case you should still get tested and get actual autism ruled out, good luck lol
Also one of these days I'm going to forcefully change your name, so be prepared for that. 5thgrade;
