my experience with tricare is that they cover absolutely nothing

also i am completely insurance-free as of april 29th

thanks obama
tricare prime covers all medically-accepted standard medical procedures but it has a few hitches like having to see a military doctor if you live near a base

a bit late:

I had my first visit with my new endocrinologist on the friday a week ago (June 13). Like I said before, the visit cost was $250, which is a lot for one visit, and indeed they didn't accept insurance, but that's just for new patients. All follow-up visits are a much-lower $75 cost and they happen fairly infrequently.

Immediately after the visit, I was able to get the blood tests in the same building. Insurance apparently does cover those. The doctor's office told me that they'd call me after they have the results and decide on my prescription so that they can send it to a pharmacy without requiring another doctor visit. This is much nicer than how it was with my previous doctor, for whom my initial visit involved two doctor visits and going to a separate lab in between.

I'll probably finally get my prescription for hormones in just a couple days, most likely sometime around Monday to Wednesday. giggle;

and my first follow-up won't be until three months from now

I finally got my estrogen prescription today

I'm starting with a dose of twice-daily 2mg estradiol while continuing with my previous 50mg spironolactone (anti-androgen).

The doctor didn't tell me this, but judging from what I've heard online, in my follow-up in September I'll probably have the dosages increased to something like 6mg/100mg

??????

i want spironolactone :'(
it's nice for hormonal acne and supposedly helps reduce hairloss if combined with minoxidil
