also jobim wrote some really cool stuff. there is one album i really want to find called gil/jobim or something. i cant remember right now. bossanova is really chill stuff and i like to drive along at night and listen to the cd i got.

there are 2 'main things' he does, an earlier style that's like cool swing jazz, and a later tripped outt free jazz thing.

my favorites among the earlier albums are Supersonic Jazz, Jazz in Silhouette, The Futuristic Sounds of Sun Ra.. they are all tightly arranged with abundant solos .

then Atlantis, Landquidity, and The Magic City (plus a few others but I think those are the best) are much looser, longer, and WHO ACRAZIER.

i recommend them all!!
