this

I've listened to that album a few times and I can't remember a single second of it. It's pretty bad when you can't remember a single second of an album two minutes after you finished it.

there is a shit load of music that has taken me multiple listens to get into
just sayin'

YPrrrr

Whenever I get my new computer I will be downloading:

Jack White - Blunderbuss
Ned's Atomic Dustbin - God Fodder

Hiro

I've listened to that xx album many many times and it is seriously one of the most boring things I've ever heard. I like probably 2 or 3 songs on it, but they're not amazing. I don't dislike them though, and I can see the appeal and the potential they have, but still.

Patrick Stickles

catch for us the foxes is still like the 2nd best "post-hardcore" album ever to me (still because i listened to it recently and was surprised to discover that that sound actually sounds incredibly dated now, though not less good. lol 2000s)

there's that really great music where you don't really know it's going to be one of your favorite albums until you listen to it many times but this isn't even that, this is just overwhelming Sensations

the stoner/doom metal bands are mostly things found in related videos on youtube after silvertone links me to something. the African things I am always searching for and have some luck going to what.cd and listing all "african" tag on one page then searching "psychedelic" (or vice-versa), or going through genre tags on last.fm though that site has become really shitty in the past few years

here is that Edzayawa album, guaranteed 7/7 enjoyment: http://64.250.113.187/~fourdt/r/audio/Edzayawa%20-%20Projection%20One.zip

I heard the song you posted on g+ and it was really cool. Downloaded.

what are some of your favorite african bands? I want to explore more "african" music, but so far all I really know is Fela Kuti and King Sunny Ade (and he is phenomenal). I like the stuff that has more electric guitar. I have some albums by Ali Farka Toure and Toumani Diabate and their stuff is really chill and relaxing, but I prefer the more intense "dancy" stuff that Fela and Ade do. Afrobeat is the genre I'm guessing.

Fela and Ali Touré are indisputably some of the best, so is Mulatu Astatke, but other than that I don't even know anyone in particular. That's why I was excited to find these new groups Edzayawa (Ghanaian), Guelawar (Gambian), and The Witch (Zambian), which will hopefully lead to more

there is some really cool Ethiopian jazz that's kind of hard to find on individual releases, but is collected on a series of compilations called Éthiopiques

one of my favorite rock albums is this compilation called World Psychedelic Classics 3: Love's a Real Thing which is all African psychedelic rock.

I'll upload all these and send them to you  hocuspocus;

Socks

last album i purchased was enrique iglesias circa 2009. from a walmart, surprisingly, which i staked out for two hours.
