Quote from: YoshidaIt can do many things, but it's not easy to say this one thing is extremely good. I think that's the reason we were not able to convince people at the original price

Quote from: YoshidaWe are not making games like Killzone Mercenary, big budget Vita games anymore [...] The expectation of the graphical quality and size of the world for these type of games have risen after the launch of PlayStation 4. The same thing happened with the PSP. People were so excited to be able to play PS2 graphics games on the go. After PS3 launched, expectations grew. The types of games on PSP were not as attractive.

what kind of excuse is that second quote

vita fans aren't begging sony for triple As with $200 million budgets that rival crysis 3 in fidelity, they're begging sony for any attention at all

50 million 3ds fans are perfectly content with games that look like they were imported from 1995 because they understand that handhelds can't possibly compete with consoles graphically, and while vita fans might have slightly higher expectations they don't want or expect anything rivaling the ps4

it's like sony has no idea what or who the vita and its fanbase even are lol

people aren't ignoring the vita because grfx

they're ignoring it because it doesn't have a shred of worthwhile software, graphically impressive or not

While the quotes in that article are completely off-mark, at least the headline is right.

Vita TV has a lot of software issues:
* No user account switching system. For any modern TV-connected game console, it should be easy for multiple users to have their own accounts on it and easily switch between them without factory resetting the system every time.
* Strong lack of video content. It can't compete with every other streaming device ever in the usual assortment of Netflix, Hulu, etc
* Video apps cannot play at 720p, let alone 1080p. Like all Vita games, they play at 960x544 and are upscaled to fit your TV.
* Some games which should be completely playable with a DualShock 4 (touchpad) are simply blocked
* Some games which could easily get an update to remove touch-dependency never did
* It should be easy for users of actual Vita systems to easily cast their display to a PS TV or at least easily switch between the two systems

and also one glaring hardware issue:
* Proprietary memory card instead of SD (at least it doesn't matter as much as regular Vita thanks to 1GB onboard storage)

Sony's very own Wii U

At least Wii U has a much better game library, multi-user support, minimum 720p+ (often 1080) resolution for everything, and apps for Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Instant Video.
