My entire immediate family (and as far as I know, my entire family in general) is Christian and I have been raised as such.  I've never actually believed in it, but I've spent my entire life pretending that I do.

My problem now is that I'd like to stop pretending because I simply can't stand it anymore; my family still treats me as if I'm religious when the reality is I'm not.  I can't stand having to tell a blatant lie when asked if I "say my prayers"; I absolutely hate going to church because it forces me to present myself as religious and lie to all the churchgoers, but I've continued to lie through my teeth because I don't wish to cause any controversy, nor do I wish to devastate anyone.  I'd love for it to end, but I simply don't have the heart to tell my parents the truth, and even if I did, I'm not sure it'd make a difference. :'(

My immediate family was never really religious, although I was raised to Roman Catholic. They know I don't really believe, along with my brother, too. They don't care. Religion was never something important.
As for my extended family, no. My father's side is pretty religious. I have an aunt and she is a bible thumper along with some in her family. My mother's side doesn't even discuss religion at all. I personally think they don't really believe either. I don't see them caring, though.

why is this in anon

anyway i have no idea if my family knows about my agnosticism or not, nor do i really care

I think they choose to ignore the fact that I am not a christian, but I have told them.

my brother and father are p. atheist or whatever, and i think my dad has inferred that i am too (which is p. true)

i think my younger sister and mother know too and i think they're theist

My mom attempted to raise me to be Christian, though I don't think she genuinely believes any of it.
She knows I'm atheist and doesn't care. My sister, who actually does believe in Christianity, also knows I'm atheist and doesn't care

My sister once told me that her church asked the kids if they have any atheist family members and that, when she mentioned me, they tried to give her silly reasons to supposedly convince me that a god must exist with something about miracles being too unlikely to be coincidences
Thankfully, she could tell that it's nonsense and has no interest in attempting to shove Christianity on me 5thgrade;
