When I was a kid, my parents took me camping out of state and we stayed in this real beautiful spot near a river. Can't remember where now.

Anyhow, there was this place we stopped, and it might just be my perversely nostalgic and skewed memory taking over, but I can remember this being somewhere that was really unique in a very real way.

It was off the highway a bit and away from the main touristy shit we were running into. There was this older house that sort of bordered the place and it was actually converted into a shop/museum of sorts. It smelled like cedar and cinnamon.

So after walking through the house and down some steps that bordered this creek, the walkway from the house turned into a brownstone path that led to a covered bridge. It was sort of in the evening when we went and I can remember the light most of all. It was that oversaturated pinkish glow that sort of bleeds through the trees and just is.

When we arrived, this song was playing over the in house speakers in the shop, and everything just sort of clicked for me.

I heard it again years later and everything came flying back.
